Update about service project conducted by employees of S&P Capital IQ (www.spcapitaliq.com) - Business unit of McGraw Hill Financial (www.mhfi.com), Hyderabad, India

Project Location: Zilla Parishad High School, Thimmapur Village, Dubbak Mandal, Medak District, Telangana, India.
About the Project: This is a government run charitable school in which 275+ students are undergoing studies. Even though students possess energy and intelligence to get in to good career, they could not get in to that because of missing leadership qualities. Also they don’t have proper furniture to concentrate on education. Making contribution in these 2 areas will make significant change in their life.

Activity: Volunteers will gather information suitable to the knowledge of students to train them in various leadership qualities to add value to their life and deliver those points on CIM day in small interactive groups. And also involves in planting saplings, conducting quiz and sports competitions and distributing prizes to students. In addition to that they will arrange furniture and sports equipment to school. They also will motivate students to dream big and achieve big.

Highlights:
1.       MHFI provided Rs.120,000 for procuring materials and expenses for the project
2.       Providing School Benches for 275 High School Students
3.       Planting saplings
4.       Cleaning the premises
5.       Providing Sports material to students
6.       Conducting quiz and essay writing sessions to students.
7.       Career Guidance classes to students.
8.       Conducted games and distributed prizes

Impact:
There are 275 students currently enrolled in the school. They will get inspiration from volunteers and concentrate on their studies by setting clear goals to learn and grow. In addition to that school will become better equipped with good facilities, and all kinds of sports materials.

About Community Impact Program: McGraw-Hill Financial ( www.mhfi.com ) the company which strongly believes in the motto, 'Giving back is essential'. MHFI encourages its employees to work for service projects in which 20+ employees would be working together and for solving public problems in their community to build better lives and stronger communities. MHFI grants $2000 per project and employees spend their personal time on the project. This year S&P Capital IQ, Hyderabad (part of MHFI group www.spcapitaliq.com ) employees applied for projects from various areas.

Chandrahar Biradar(Project Leader): It was an immense pleasure to be a part of such CIM program. This kind of career guidance sessions will help students to set their goals. It was a great opportunity for me to talk to students and guide them. It’s out and out a team work altogether which has led the project to grand success. I am thankful to MHFI, S&P Capital IQ for allowing me to lead this project. I am also thankful to all volunteers for their kind support.

Rajasekhar Puppala: First of all I would like to thank you for providing me this wonderful opportunity to serve the society. It is my distinct pleasure to serve along with other volunteers, who despite of their busy schedule made their way to Thimmapur Village and participated in such a wonderful program. Providing basic amenities like benches means that students are relived from back pain and knee problems and concentrate more on studies. And obviously the career guidance will certainly will help to reach their goals in future.
On a personal front it gave me a tremendous self satisfaction and I was delighted to work under your leadership.
Please make me a part in your next year’s project.

Ruchi Tiwari:  I am very happy to be a part of this project. It was the great opportunity for me to spend a little time for them. I am sure that this is one of my wonderful experiences.

Jaganmohan Rao Chintada: It was a very good opportunity to work for a school, a convent educated student like me could sense a totally different environment. Student’s obedience and keen observation has touched me immensely. It’s out and out a team work altogether which has led the project to succeed.

Vikram Kumar Pathak:  It is a great pleasure to be a part of this project. I felt very much happy while interacting with the students. I saw the happiness in the eyes of Student. I enjoyed a lot while sharing my opinions and thoughts with children regarding career path, I also learn lot of things personally by involving in this. It was a nice and pleasant experience to me. 

Uttar Deshpande: First, I would like to thank Chandrahar for giving me this opportunity. Truly it was great moment for us as we were with school children. I have learnt that day what “Giving Back is Essential” really means, as if we were giving back to the school, what we have learnt from them. We explained the students the way to build the career path and gave them motivation how to be strong in their lives and to overcome the difficulties and hurdles.

J. Prabhudas (Head Master):  I sincerely thank to Aadarana, McGraw Hill Financial, S&P Capital IQ and all the team of volunteers for conducting the CIM project in our school. I really appreciate the volunteer group for spending their precious time with all our students. The way they have conducted the program indeed brought about a great change in the students attitude. They have motivated, guided and encouraged the students in very good manner. They conducted competitions and awarded prizes. Students will surely benefit from this program. Bala Raju (Social Studies Teacher): It gives immense pleasure to thank all the CIM volunteers for conducting a program at our school to guide our students for their future goal settings. The way they have conducted a program in a given stipulated time is very appreciable. They have covered all the areas of the subject and educated the students.

Pravalika (10th Class Student): We all are very happy and thankful to S&P Capital IQ for providing benches, note books, sports kit and guided us about the carrier. Thank much.

Swamy (10th Class Student): My thanks to Capital IQ and staff.  Volunteers have motivated us for studying well and provided many facilities to our school.  They also explained about different courses that are available after out schooling and their related jobs.
