Update about service project conducted by employees of S&P Capital IQ (www.spcapitaliq.com) - Business unit of McGraw Hill Financial (www.mhfi.com), Hyderabad, India

Project Location: Z.P.H. School, Kondanagula Village, Balmoor Mandal, Mahaboobnagar District, Telangana, India
About the Project: This is a government run charitable school in which 900+ students are undergoing studies. Even though students possess energy and intelligence to get in to good career, they could not get in to that because of missing leadership qualities. Also they don’t have proper furniture to concentrate on education. The project is to ‘Career Counseling and Guidance to 10th Class Students of the Balmoor Mandal at Z.P. High School of Kondanagula village, to enlighten their wisdom on the opportunities after 10th std. (both academic and professional). Volunteers’ team has explored students to various career and academic ways after this stage of education. This will eventually strengthen them to find a suitable career target for them and help them to decide a right course and to find a right career for the future. Simultaneously, Volunteers team has supported the school amenities by giving Desk Benches, Tables, Sports kit and Swamy Vivekananda and other motivational books etc… to make school a better place of study.

Activity: Volunteers team conducted a counselling session on ‘Career Counseling and Guidance to 10th Class Students approximately 300+’ of Balmoor mandal at ZPP High School of Kondanagula village; Team has distributed career opportunities Hand-outs to all the student groups in the meeting. In addition, Team arranged furniture and sports equipment to school and hold ‘clean & green’ activity at the premises and amenities of the school to attract and students retain in school. Volunteers have been engaged students by conducting various educational quizzes like programs and explain them the importance of education to build their careers and the nation as well. Volunteer’s team have performed the ‘Swach Vidyalay’ and plantation has been done. They also will motivate students to dream big and achieve big.

Highlights:
1.       Career Guidance classes to 300+ students of Mandal level and distributed prizes
2.       MHFI provided the worth of Rs.120,000 furniture, sports etc… materials and expenses for the project
3.       Providing School Benches
4.       Planting plants in school premises
5.       Swachh Vidyalay
6.       Providing Sports material to students
7.       Conducting quiz and essay writing sessions to students.
8.       Welcome procedure done to volunteer Team by School management is awesome.

Impact:
Approximately 300+ students of Balmoor Mandal have been benefited from this Project campaign. They got explored to different arenas of opportunities after 10th class. Counseling and Inspiration messages from volunteers/ activities will impact students of this target group by helping them to decide their goals and future. In addition to this, school became better equipped with good facilities.. They got inspiration from volunteers and concentrate on their studies by setting clear goals to learn and grow. Team participated in Swach Vidyalay and plantation.

About Community Impact Program: McGraw-Hill Financial ( www.mhfi.com ) the company which strongly believes in the motto, 'Giving back is essential'. MHFI encourages its employees to work for service projects in which 20+ employees would be working together and for solving public problems in their community to build better lives and stronger communities. MHFI grants $2000 per project and employees spend their personal time on the project. This year S&P Capital IQ, Hyderabad (part of MHFI group www.spcapitaliq.com ) employees applied for projects from various areas.

Ramya Ranjan Sahu: First of all I am thankful to our S&P Capital IQ for giving us great opportunity to serve for the society through CIM. I attended Most of CIM programs & this one is the best ever. Especially welcome given by the school students & staffs is unforgettable. It’s amazing to spend time with school students. They (students) are very active & asked good questions to us. I shared my experience in guiding their career. School staffs are also very cooperative. Overall a wonderful experience. Our volunteers did a great job. Harinadh Talati: I feel very happy to be a one of the volunteer for this project (CIM 20), So far I have attended 3 CIM’s, but this time I had best experience so far, S&P capital IQ is the first company to visit the school for career guidance as a part “community impact month” project. School children are very happy with our visit, they gained a very good knowledge about their future education courses, how to build the career and social responsibilities need to follow, from our team. Our S&P capital IQ provided benches, tables, and library book and sports kit to improve the standard of education in schools that don’t have enough necessities. I thank to our company for doing projects like this and making us to serve society as a part of CIM. Last but Not least I thank my project lead “Krishnaiah Goud Surya” for giving this opportunity

Mallikarjuna Marripudi: Hartley thankful to beloved S&P Capital IQ for giving this great opportunity to serve society through CIM project. Special thank to Krishnaiah motivation to involve in this project and it’s my first attendance in CIM programs. And motivated to involve in more CIM programmes in future too…… Especially welcome given by the school students & staffs is unforgettable. It’s amazing to spend time with school students. They (students) are very active & asked good questions to us. I shared my experience in guiding their career. School staffs are also very cooperative. Our volunteers did a great job. It’s a great memorable experience in my life

Bhaskara Nagachakradhar Pothula: Thanks to capital IQ for providing an opportunity to serve the society through CIM, This is my first CIM I have attended, I am very much happy to address the students regarding career guidance. Students are very interactive and teachers and our volunteers are very cooperative, we enjoyed very much in this CIM, I thank to every person in this CIM event.

Kulasekhara Reddy Chagam: Thanks to everyone for the part of the CIM program. It was a great welcome given by the school. I never had such type of experience. The students were much disciplined and enthusiastic to learn new things. The students sang a song which was composed by Michel Jackson. I was shocked while they were singing that song. I enjoyed a lot throughout day…

Satyabrata Mishra: Thankful to S&P Capital IQ, Inc. for such a nice CIM program. Though I went first time in CIM program I got a tremendous experience. The beautifully arranged invitation by students was fantastic & unique one. The student’s participation was also nice. The enthusiasm of students & curiosity to know something should be praised. In spite of my comfortlessness in Telugu, I interacted a lot among students & faculties. Thanks to Chakri, Harinadh & Kishore for translating my words. Overly they arranged the things very well.
