Update about service project conducted by employees of S&P Capital IQ (www.spcapitaliq.com) - Business unit of McGraw Hill Financial (www.mhfi.com), Hyderabad, India.

Project Location: U.P. School, Achampet Village, Narsapur Mandal, Medak District, Telangana, India
About the Project: This is a government run school in which 150+ students are undergoing studies. Even though students possess energy and intelligence to get in to good career, they could not get in to that because of many dropouts from the school. Also they don’t have proper furniture to concentrate on education. Making contribution in these 2 areas will make significant change in their life.

Project Leader: Pavan Kumar Govind
Activity: Volunteers will gather information suitable to the knowledge of students to train them in various advantages of education to add value to their life and deliver those points on CIM day in small interactive groups. And also involves in planting saplings, conducting quiz and sports competitions and distributing prizes to students. In addition to that they will arrange furniture and sports equipment to school. They also will motivate students to dream big and achieve big.
Date & Time: 22nd June, 2015 from10am to 4pm
Number of Volunteers: 25

Highlights:
1.       MHFI provided Rs.120,000 for procuring materials and expenses for the project
2.       Providing School Benches for 150 School Students
3.       Guiding them about the value of education and educated persons have in the society
4.       Cleaning the premises
5.       Providing Sports material to students
6.       Conducting quiz and essay writing sessions to students.
7.       Career Guidance classes to students.
8.       Conducted games and distributed prizes

Impact:
There are 150 students currently enrolled in the school. They will get inspiration from volunteers and concentrate on their studies by setting clear goals to learn and grow. In addition to that school will become better equipped with good facilities.

About Community Impact Program: McGraw-Hill Financial ( www.mhfi.com ) the company which strongly believes in the motto, 'Giving back is essential'. MHFI encourages its employees to work for service projects in which 20+ employees would be working together and for solving public problems in their community to build better lives and stronger communities. MHFI grants $2000 per project and employees spend their personal time on the project. This year S&P Capital IQ, Hyderabad (part of MHFI group www.spcapitaliq.com ) employees applied for projects from various areas.


FEEDBACK OF THE VOLUNTEERS:
Pavan Kumar Govind(Project Leader): The CIM project that I have lead has given me an immense pleasure and I am very much satisfied by spending time with the students who are genuinely needed. The knowledge of the students of government schools is very high and I am happy to be part of bringing it out. I am very much thankful to the management and my particular thanks to S&P Capital IQ for giving this opportunity.

Rajeshwar Bommarapu(Co-leader): I am very happy to be part of this project. It gave me immense satisfaction where I got an opportunity to share and guide children, who are really needed some motivation for continuing their education and some financial support for the education. Thanks Pavan for making me part in this wonderful project.-

Naresh Mudi: I am happy to participate in CIM Project. Project is inspiring and motivated me to take some social responsibility.

Sudhakar Karnati: Thanks Pavan given a wonder full opportunity to motive children. i really appreciate you because your selected right school at right time, they required help genuine.

Bhaskar Vanimina: We had a great time by spending our whole day for the society along with co-volunteers. We had interacted with the students. They are very sharp in terms of knowledge, discipline and obedience. With this project execution in the school, students who dropped their studies will definitely come back to continue.


FEEDBACK OF THE BENEFICIARIES:
Shafi Uddin (School Principal):  We are very happy for the services and the contribution that we received from the S&P capital IQ and Team. Our students did not have benches to sit and they were felling very sad and shame for sitting on the floor earlier. Now with the benches that you have provided they are also happy. The volunteers conducted quiz and various competitions which motivated to student to build team spirit. The plantation of saplings made the students to understand the value of trees.
