Update about service project conducted by employees of S&P Capital IQ (www.spcapitaliq.com) - Business unit of McGraw Hill Financial (www.mhfi.com), Hyderabad, India

Project Location: Yelkaguda, Peddamangalaram village, Moinabad Mandal, Ranga Reddy District, Telangana, India
About the Project: Yelkaguda is a remote village in which people through plastic bags, used bottles and other used products outside on roads and empty lands. This causes earth pollution. In fact these can be polled at village level and sell to recycling unit, which will give additional income to village administration. There are pipes and bore wells are available but due to power shortage people won’t get water at their suitable time. If we provide 2 mini water tanks to store water as per power availability, that will enable drinking water facility to 400 people.

Activity: Volunteers along with village youth will organize a drive to collect all plastics thrown on roads and keep them in to storage bags and reach all people of the village and tell about storing dry waste and selling that to recycling company. Volunteers will also coordinate on take part in constructing the water tanks.
Date & Time: 29th June 2015 from10am to 4pm
Number of Volunteers: 20

Highlights:
1.       MHFI provided Rs.120,000 for procuring materials and expenses for the project
2.       Providing Desk benches for primary school
3.       Providing Two Mini water storage tanks for villagers
4.       Providing white wash to mini water storage tanks
5.       Cleaned waste found on village roads
6.       Providing Sports material  & note books to students
7.       Plantation in school premises
8.       Conducted games and distributed prizes

Impact:
400 villagers from below poverty line will be benefited with clean environment and water storage tanks

About Community Impact Program: McGraw-Hill Financial ( www.mhfi.com ) the company which strongly believes in the motto, 'Giving back is essential'. MHFI encourages its employees to work for service projects in which 20+ employees would be working together and for solving public problems in their community to build better lives and stronger communities. MHFI grants $2000 per project and employees spend their personal time on the project. This year S&P Capital IQ, Hyderabad (part of MHFI group www.spcapitaliq.com ) employees applied for projects from various areas.

Mohammmed Ibraheem: (Project Leader): It’s a great honor to me for giving a chance to handle the CIM project. Under this project, we have collected wastage/garbage from Villagers as well as counseled them about it. We donated Scholl Benches and Sports Kit to the School, and have motivated students towards reaching goals and a good human being. We also planted saplings in the School ground. It’s a great experience. Thanks to S&P Capital IQ and volunteers for their support.

Ganga Prasad Bestha: It’s my pleasure to have such a great opportunity of participating in a CIM project to serve the society. I am very thankful to Our Company to facilitating the CIM project. Through this CIM program I deserved an opportunity to serve public through facilitating needs as per their needs with the help of Our Company. This is a very good initiation of our company towards development of our society & spreading name and fame of our brand image. It makes me feel good in wandering people to know the basically needs of them & how to overcome them.

Arun Kumar. Maji: It is a great experience being a member of this CIM project. S&P Capital IQ has given me the platform where we can do well to the society. One of the best events I have attended, great speakers, atmosphere, skill development program – really we enjoyed it and I will be there in future events. Please keep me informed of future events. Simply I love the format.

Durga Prasad Medicherla:  I am very happy to be the part of this wonderful project, which allowed me to work for the welfare of the society.  I got immense pleasure and self-satisfaction as I try to give back the society something though this project.  

China Babu Kasukurthi : It was a very happy moment, being a part of this project. In this project we went to a school, where we enjoyed a lot with students. Through this project I got an opportunity to serve the society

Karimulla Shaik Kommuri:
It’s been a great opportunity to spend, work, engage and guide the young minds and also become a helping hand in enhancing their future. Thank you  CIMA project for providing me such an opportunity for becoming a part in the  development of the society. The day we spent with the children by the means of our Community impact project was a really awesome and heartwarming

Rajendra Chary Katta: It’s a wonderful opportunity for serving the society, and by sharing our knowledge with young minds and encouraging them by conducting games and distributing gifts. And it was a great time

Naresh Dommeti: It is a great opportunity to attend this CIMA program. I am very proud to serve the school environment and share my knowledge to young children’s’
