Update about service project conducted by employees of S&P Capital IQ (www.spcapitaliq.com) - Business unit of McGraw Hill Financial (www.mhfi.com), Hyderabad, India

Project Location: Z.P.H. School, RC Puram Village and Mandal, Medak District, Telangana, India
About the Project: This is a government Zilla Parishad High school has 1200 strength in three media with 25 sections and run for educating underprivileged students and lacks various basic facilities like proper furniture and sports equipment to engage students. Also there are many students from that area drop out from school because of various economic and social factors. They are unaware about value of education and how it can support their survival. Volunteers can bring that awareness among them with various works.

Activity: On the day of CIM project the students are divides as small groups and taken the classes on Career guidance and counseling to 10th class students with the help of flow charts and graphs on Career guidance prepared by the volunteers. In addition to that they will arrange furniture and sports equipment to school to attract and students retain in school..And also involves in painting blackboards, planting saplings, conducting quiz and sports competitions and distributing prizes to students. In addition to that they will arrange furniture and sports equipment to school. They also will motivate students to dream big and achieve big.
Date & Time: 6th July 2015 from10am to 4pm
Number of Volunteers: 25

Highlights:
1.       MHFI provided Rs.120,000 for procuring materials and expenses for the project
2.       Conducted career guidance and counseling to 10th class students
3.       Providing 32 School Benches for 150High School Students
4.       Painting Black boards
5.       Cleaning the premises
6.       Providing Sports material to students
7.       Conducting quiz and essay writing sessions to students.
8.       Conducted games and distributed prizes

Impact:
There are 1200 students currently enrolled in the school. They will get inspiration from volunteers and concentrate on their studies by setting clear goals to learn and grow. In addition to that school will become better equipped with good facilities.

About Community Impact Program: McGraw-Hill Financial ( www.mhfi.com ) the company which strongly believes in the motto, 'Giving back is essential'. MHFI encourages its employees to work for service projects in which 20+ employees would be working together and for solving public problems in their community to build better lives and stronger communities. MHFI grants $2000 per project and employees spend their personal time on the project. This year S&P Capital IQ, Hyderabad (part of MHFI group www.spcapitaliq.com ) employees applied for projects from various areas.
