Project Location: Peddha Adhirala Village, Jadcharla mandal, Mahaboobnagar District, Telangana, India
About the Project: Ekvayapalle Hamlet is a village of 600 people and they are unaware about importance of hygiene and cleanliness. They through plastics around the village, unaware about recycling and don’t know about deceases caused with their own acts. Some education about good practices to keep their surrounding clean will help all of them. They also face severe water crisis because of bad infrastructure for water pipeline. There is an opportunity to rectify that issue.

Activity: Volunteers will take support from village youth and work on cleaning the village, lifting garbage and creating suitable places for recycling and composting. They will reach all people and tell about duty of every person in protecting environment through proper waste management and recycling. Also they will describe personal damage to people because of bad practices of throwing waste on roads and other common places. As construction of three water tanks is part of the project, they will buy all required material and engage paid labor along with their support and will install the tanks for the benefit of the needy people.

Highlights:
1.       Constructed 3 Mini Cement water tanks
2.       Constructed 3 bases for  water tanks
3.       Provided material for Pipe Lines and other plumbing works
4.       Cleaning the village, lifting garbage and creating suitable places for recycling and composting
5.       Done plantation
6.       Created awareness  regarding  green revolution.

Impact:
600 people of the village will have clean village and will also understand the importance of clean surroundings along with 3 water tanks for their drinking water needs.

About Community Impact Program: McGraw-Hill Financial ( www.mhfi.com ) the company which strongly believes in the motto, 'Giving back is essential'. MHFI encourages its employees to work for service projects in which 20+ employees would be working together and for solving public problems in their community to build better lives and stronger communities. MHFI grants $2000 per project and employees spend their personal time on the project. This year S&P Capital IQ, Hyderabad (part of MHFI group www.spcapitaliq.com ) employees applied for projects from various areas.
