Project Location: Vookondi Village, Munugodu Mandal, Nalgonda District, Telangana, India
About the Project: Mandal Parishad Primary School is situated in Vookondi village of Munugodu –Mandal in Nalgonda district with a distance of 120 kms from CIQ Hyderabad office. It is a Government primary school run by state government. 92 students are studying in this school between 1st standard to 5 standards. Compound wall was broken at 3 places and needs repair and lot of debris was lying on the ground of the school and it should be removed and school buildings are old state, so its need whitewash. The blackboards should be painted. It also lacks proper maintenance and basic facilities like proper furniture and sports equipment to engage students.

Activity: Volunteers are involved in activities of white washing for class rooms and compound wall, ground cleaning and Tree plantation and procure material for wall construction as well as provided benches and sports material to school children and school staff.
Date & Time: 29th June 2015 from 8 am to 4pm
Number of Volunteers: 25

Highlights:
1.       MHFI provided Rs.120, 000 for procuring material for wall constructions, benches for the school, sports material, and Volunteers expenses.
2.       Volunteers spend 8 hours of their personal time for cleaning entire school premises, painting of the school buildings and compound wall as well as participated in tree plantation activities.
3.       Provided 20  Primary school benches which can be facilitate 5 class rooms with  95 students
4.       Conducted games and quiz regarding subjective matters
5.       Distributed Gifts to students

Impact:
Good atmosphere creates good learning experience. There are 92 students in the school, who will get access to good play ground and protected premises. They will get inspiration from volunteers and learn the importance of good environment, service mindedness, living with social responsibility and cleanliness of school and surroundings.

About Community Impact Program: McGraw-Hill Financial ( www.mhfi.com ) the company which strongly believes in the motto, 'Giving back is essential'. MHFI encourages its employees to work for service projects in which 20+ employees would be working together and for solving public problems in their community to build better lives and stronger communities. MHFI grants $2000 per project and employees spend their personal time on the project. This year S&P Capital IQ, Hyderabad (part of MHFI group www.spcapitaliq.com ) employees applied for projects from various areas.

Lingaswamy Pagilla:  First of all I thank to Mr. Sunil Kumar because he has selected the project from distance villages, as the distance villages don’t have minimum facilities for the students to get better education. Through this project we have facilitated few of the necessities. And through we trained the students about the importance education in society and also educated villagers about importance of trees in human life. Parusuram Pelluru: First I thanks to Sunil, Lingaswamy and Suresh Kumar for taking initiation, leading this great event as success, because of you we got a chance to participate for this project. I personally enjoyed so much in CIM project, spending the whole day with children’s, giving advice, playing with them really a great feeling. In my view we have conducted some sort of awareness program particularly to reduce the school drop outs of girls and encourage them to words studies, especially the villagers. I also wish you to conduct many such programs in future and all the very best.

Kiran Kumar Alapati: It is a great opportunity to be a part in “Community Impact Month” as a volunteer by maintain the motto of our company ‘Giving Back is Essential’ to serve the society where we are getting everything. It was a great honor for us to serve the students of Vookondi village, knowing their struggle to have basic facility to learn education in their school and it is very happy movement that we, our company providing all those in order to better educating them. Hence it was a great opportunity to be a part in this event.

Raghu Velishala: I am very happy that I got an opportunity to spend, work, engage and guide the young minds. It’s been a great opportunity to work for the society with Community Impact month through our company.

Subba Rao Chollangi: It’s an opportunity for all of us to give back something to our society.  Really the School Children at that Govt. School need support which was fulfilled by our Company. And looking forward to share our knowledge and serve the society in future.

Sravan Kumar Naidu Dasamaneni: I would definitely say we made a difference, but not just for the people in Vookondi but in our own life. Volunteering has allowed me to come back home with a different perspective not just in the way I live but how I interact with others. I welcome volunteering as it allows people the true experience of those we are trying to help going beyond what you see on television or in magazines." Volunteering was magical on so many levels. There is one word I word I like to share with you for this project i.e. “Awesome”

Deepika Ganta: It gave me immense pleasure to become a part of the CIMA-85 project which provided me the opportunity to help the young talent of our society which do not have basic facilities and materialist thing which can help them grow .I felt great privilege for being able to do something for those kids and become a reason for their smile .My heart overwhelmed with happiness seeing the pleasure on their faces for having received those gifts and goodies. Thank you for the opportunity.

Kevala Sunkari: It’s been a great opportunity to spend, work, engage and guide the young minds and also become a helping hand in enhancing their future. Thank you CIMA project for providing me such an opportunity for becoming a part in the development of the society. The day we spent with the children by the means of our Community impact project was a really awesome and heartwarming

Kumara Swamy Vadde: I am so much happy for being a part of this program, each and every movement I felt very proud to work for the children; I would like to thank MHFI for conducting such a wonder full programs for the development of our society and also like to congratulate each and every volunteer who gave their helping hands for serving the poor children.
