Update about service project conducted by employees of S&P Capital IQ (www.spcapitaliq.com) - Business unit of McGraw Hill Financial (www.mhfi.com), Hyderabad, India

Project Location: Sri Keerthana Foundation, Plot No: 189, Central Hasthinapuram, Nagarjuna Sagar Road, L.B Nagar, Hyderabad, Telangana, India.
About the Project: Sri Keerthana Foundation is located at Central Hasthinapuram, Sagar Road – LB Nagar. This is an organization giving shelter to Orphans, Old age people and mentally and physically challenged people who are 150 in number. Improving the quality of this Orphanage was very important because they were abandoned by the society. Therefore, the focus was to improve their way of living life and we have planned activities which will supplement the cause and planned for whitewashing, painting, repairs and we have also planned to provide them computers with UPS, plastic chairs, steel tables and computer tables

Activity: Whitewashing & Painting of Orphan Block and Plantation.
Date & Time: 24th May, 2015 from 10 am to 5 pm
Number of Volunteers: 25

Highlights:
1.       MHFI provided Rs.1,20,000 for procuring materials and expenses for the project.
2.       Volunteers have spent about 6 hours of their personal time
3.       Whitewashed and Painted the Orphan Block.
4.       Plantation Activity:  20 Plants were neatly planted in and around the Orphanage and we have arranged bricks as fencing.
5.       Distributed gifts to all the orphans and prizes for the competition winners.
6.       We have provided them steel tables, plastic chairs, Computer tables, computers with UPS and Ply wood material for repairs.

Impact:
1.       Orphans can learn computers, as we have provided them 3 computers.
2.       Helped orphans to have better facilities along with moral support.
3.       Orphans block was repaired which were not having windows. This was repaired with the plywood material that we have provided them.
4.       Orphans were taught about goal setting, which will help them to build a good career.
5.       Educating them about cleanliness and Healthy habits.

About Community Impact Program: McGraw-Hill Financial ( www.mhfi.com ) the company which strongly believes in the motto, 'Giving back is essential'. MHFI encourages its employees to work for service projects in which 20+ employees would be working together and for solving public problems in their community to build better lives and stronger communities. MHFI grants $2000 per project and employees spend their personal time on the project. This year S&P Capital IQ, Hyderabad (part of MHFI group www.spcapitaliq.com ) employees applied for projects from various areas.

Siva Kumar Mallampalli: Helping Hands are always better than praying lips. It was indeed one of the best moments with children. I would like to extend my wishes and thanks to Soujanya Sayiri and Sudheer. And Mc Graw Hill financial and S & P Capital IQ are making all this Happen. Kudos to all the volunteers.

Bhaskar Dappu: First of all congratulations to Ms. Soujanya Sayiri for completing the CIM project successfully. It has been a wonderful experience to be able to spent time with the children out there in Sri Keerthana Foundation. We had lots of fun chatting with children, conducting games, giving valuable career guidance to students. I enjoyed the event. Looking forward to participate in few more CIM activities. Last but not the least I would like to thank to S&P Capital IQ for giving us this opportunity to be part of such Nobel cause.

Ashrafuddin: It was a wonderful Journey for me. Actually it was my first experience to go such an organization and I feel very good to work there and spent some time there.

Aparna Soma: It is a great memorable experience to spend time with the Orphan Kids at Keerthana foundation.  It has given me an immense pleasure to be a part of this CIM" Project. My special thanks to S&P Capital IQ, MHFI and Soujanya Sayiri who have given this opportunity.

Saleha Begum: It was very nice program & I had visited so many schools through CIM, but this CIM is a different one. It was very nice interacting with the orphan kids there and to meet the old age people.

Sayed Kalimulla Basheban: It was an amazing experience for me. I’ve never visited such organization. It was my first time to visit an orphanage and Old age. I would like to thank the management and the project leader Soujanya for providing such opportunity. I would like you to conduct such programs in future.

Rajesh Pati: Thank you very much S&P Capital IQ for providing budget for such a good cause. This is my first CIM and I got a very good experience. After attending this I learned so many things and I’m very much impressed with the activities that are done @ Keerthana Foundation. I have got an inspiration and next time surely I will take up a project with this experience.

Swetha Kovuri: Thank You S&P Capital IQ for giving an opportunity to serve the society. I’m very much inspired with this project and I’m happy being a part of serving society. Thank You Soujanya, Indeed it was a memorable experience.

Good planning and coordination was the secret of the success of this CIM Project. Social Service to such organization was a great decision by the project leader.
