Update about service project conducted by employees of S&P Capital IQ (www.spcapitaliq.com) - Business unit of McGraw Hill Financial (www.mhfi.com), Hyderabad, India

Project Location: UPS School, Srigiripaly, Gajwel Mandal, Medak District, Telangana, India
About the Project: This a school is running with government support.  There are lack basic necessities for the children. In past there are certain incidents happened that students are trapped by strangers.  This project aims provide those necessities like purified water, Wash rooms with connected to taps, Desk benches, celling fans and tubes. And also providing necessary training for their self-protection.

Activity: Self-protecting training, Career Guidance, provided study desks, Note books, water purifier and Sports kit
Date & Time: 21st June 2015 from11am to 6:30pm

Highlights:
1. Provided training to 1 to 8th class students on self defense
 2. Guidance given to 8th and 9th class students about career
 2. Volunteers actively participated in tree plantation
 3 Build Confidence to students
 4. Conducted games to school children and distributed prizes to the winners.
 5 Volunteers Handover furniture, Water purifier, books and sports kit to school children and staff.

Impact:
240 students are now aware how to defend themselves someone approaches them with false intention and they will get good sitting atmosphere in class rooms and they can listen lectures with good attention because of the furniture provided and it will result good performance in their examination.

About Community Impact Program: McGraw-Hill Financial ( www.mhfi.com ) the company which strongly believes in the motto, 'Giving back is essential'. MHFI encourages its employees to work for service projects in which 20+ employees would be working together and for solving public problems in their community to build better lives and stronger communities. MHFI grants $2000 per project and employees spend their personal time on the project. This year S&P Capital IQ, Hyderabad (part of MHFI group www.spcapitaliq.com ) employees applied for projects from various areas.

Sekhar Katakam: Taking the time to serve to children is not only a worthwhile investment but also a wonderful experience. I have visited MPUP schools in Srigiripally, and this visit is among the most rewarding experience in my career in public service

Sreenivasulu Bandi : It’s a wonderful experience interacting with the children. Their enthusiasm is impressive. I can say that they have bright future. I taught few things to them but learned many.
