CIMA – 077 - Making Unemployed Ready for a Job & Providing Equipment to Primary school at Pulmamidi Village, Ranga Reddy on 15th June, 2015

Project Location: Primary School, Pulmamidi Village, Nawabpet Mandal, Ranga Reddy District, Telangana, India
About the Project: Pulmamidi Village, Nawabpet Mandal, Ranga Reddy District is consisting of many unemployed youth who dropped out of college due to bad economic conditions at home. There are many institutions which are providing free vocational training for semi-skilled jobs. There is a necessity to take this knowledge to those unemployed and motivate them to get in to proper jobs. Otherwise this will lead to unrest and poverty. There is a primary school in the same village with 162 students who need furniture and water facility.

Activity: Volunteers provided guidance and training to unemployed youth of the village and conducted Swachh Bharath at school premises. Volunteers gave career guidance sessions to 10th class students, and conducted games and competitions to the students and distributed the prizes. In addition to that we arranged furniture, sports equipment, and water purifier to school on behalf of our company’s CIM program.

Highlights:
1.       MHFI provided Rs.120,000 for procuring materials and expenses for the project
2.       Provided guidance to the unemployed youth of the village
3.       Conducted career guidance and counseling to 10th class students
4.       Provided 15 School Benches for Primary School Students
5.       Conducted Swatch Bharat program at the School Premises
6.       Provided Water Purifier, Library Rack and Office table.
7.       Provided Sports material to students
8.       Conducted quiz and essay writing sessions to students.
9.       Conducted games and distributed prizes

Impact:
Many unemployed youth in the village got benefited through this project. There are also 162 students currently enrolled in the school. They will get inspiration from volunteers and concentrate on their studies by setting clear goals to learn and grow. In addition to that school will become better equipped with good facilities.

About Community Impact Program: McGraw-Hill Financial ( www.mhfi.com ) the company which strongly believes in the motto, 'Giving back is essential'. MHFI encourages its employees to work for service projects in which 20+ employees would be working together and for solving public problems in their community to build better lives and stronger communities. MHFI grants $2000 per project and employees spend their personal time on the project. This year S&P Capital IQ, Hyderabad (part of MHFI group www.spcapitaliq.com ) employees applied for projects from various areas.


FEEDBACK OF THE VOLUNTEERS:
Narsimha Reddy Ginnaram (Project Lead): This is my second CIM project in my village. I am very happy to be part of this CIM event and got an opportunity to serve the society. I have learnt so many things by doing these projects and interacted with different types of people. My sincere thanks to MHFI and S & P Capital IQ as well as my team members, without their support I can’t make this event Success.

Sandeep Lamba Karanam: It’s been a wonderful occasion in my life to be part of this successful CIM event. I am very happy as I got the opportunity to teach the needy students in the area of career guidance. I enjoyed a lot to be a part of this project.

Lokesh Medi: It’s a great feeling being a part of this project. I am satisfied wholeheartedly as I got an opportunity to serve the society.

Ram Mohan: I would like to say thanks to CIQ Hyderabad for giving me an opportunity to participate in the community impact project (CIM). As a part of our project, we provided water purifying machine, benches and some other required facilities to the school at Pulmamidi. I hope these facilities are very much useful to the students. The project was successful because of highly co-operated team work.

Ashok Kothamasu: It is a great opportunity to participate in this program with service motto.

Swarupram Gonthina: It’s a good opportunity for me to be a part of the event for a meaningful impact, as well expanding our network and had great fun.


FEEDBACK OF THE BENEFICIARIES:
P Pandu ranga Reddy (Mandal President, Nawabpet mandal): We are very much thankful to the Capital IQ management for selecting the rural areas and providing basic necessities to the schools and villages. I request the management to do more such projects in our Mandal.

Beem Reddy (Sarpanch): This was the second project done by the CAPITAL IQ through the CIM program in our village. On behalf of our village panchayat we are very much thankful to the S&P Capital IQ for providing guidance and training to unemployed youth of the village, as well as for providing benches, water purifier, racks and notebooks to the school. I personally request the Capital IQ management to do more and more projects in our area.

CH Kista Reddy(Head Master): We are very much thankful to the Capital IQ for providing various facilities to our school through the CIM program. Volunteers conducted various activities to the students and distributed prizes, as well as participated in swachha bharat at school and cleaned the school campus. We are very much thankful to volunteers for spending their time with the students.
