Update about service project conducted by employees of S&P Capital IQ (www.spcapitaliq.com) - Business unit of McGraw Hill Financial (www.mhfi.com), Hyderabad, India.

Project Location: Patel Chervu Thanda Village, Manchal Mandal, Rangareddy District, Telangana, India.
About the Project: This is a government run school in which 285+ students are undergoing studies. Even though students possess energy and intelligence to get in to good career, they could not get in to that because of knowledge on the Nutrition and its impact on the human body. Also they don’t have proper furniture to concentrate on education. Making contribution in these 2 areas will make significant change in their life.

Activity: Volunteers took guidance from nutrition experts and designed food charts that are beneficial to growing children along with list of foods that are in affordable prices. On CIM day volunteers gathered parents in the school and explained food charts and gave them food advice for their children. They also provided nutritious samples to the children on that day. Volunteers also provided furniture for facilitating comfort seating of the children.

Highlights:
1.       MHFI provided Rs.120,000 for procuring materials and expenses for the project
2.       Provided guidance related to Nutrition Tips to the parents and students
3.       Provided School Benches for 285+ Primary School Students
4.       Painting done to Black boards
5.       White washing done to the school premises along with new name plate
6.       Cleaning the premises
7.       Provided Sports material to students
8.       Conducting quiz and essay writing sessions to students.
9.       Career Guidance classes to students.
10.   Conducted games and distributed prizes

Impact:
There are 285+ students currently enrolled in the school. They got inspiration from volunteers to concentrate on their studies about eating nutritious food and by setting clear goals to learn and grow. In addition to that school got better equipped with good facilities.

About Community Impact Program: McGraw-Hill Financial ( www.mhfi.com ) the company which strongly believes in the motto, 'Giving back is essential'. MHFI encourages its employees to work for service projects in which 20+ employees would be working together and for solving public problems in their community to build better lives and stronger communities. MHFI grants $2000 per project and employees spend their personal time on the project. This year S&P Capital IQ, Hyderabad (part of MHFI group www.spcapitaliq.com ) employees applied for projects from various areas.

FEEDBACK OF THE BENEFICIARIES:
M.Laxman: We are very happy for the services and the contribution that we received from the S&P capital IQ and Team. Our students did not have benches to sit and they were felling very sad and shame for sitting on the floor earlier. Now with the benches that you have provided they are also happy. The volunteers conducted quiz and various competitions which motivated to student to build team spirit. The plantation of saplings made the students to understand the value of trees. Thanks to the management of S&P capital IQ.
