Project Location: Kousalya colony, Bachupally, Quthbullapur Mandal, Ranga Reddy District, Telangana State, India
About the Project: Kousalya colony is Gram Panchayat located in Quthbullapur Mandal, Ranga Reddy District in a distance of 15 KM form Capital IQ, Hyderabad. The objective is to create a small park with play items for children of all ages, who are in dire need for the park in the locality.  The project includes guiding the children and the parents about the importance of separation of dry waste such as plastics, paper, and bottles from vegetable and wet waste to protect environment. It also includes educating the children of their responsibility in keeping the park and the surroundings clean and green.

Activity: Volunteers will procure park play items such as “Merry – go –round, Climbers etc., and sand for construction. They will also gather required material to educate colony residents about importance of recycling the dry waste and need of separating it at source and coordinate with village administration to set up suitable system. On CIM day they will assist the skilled labor for installation of equipment and also plantation of 100+ saplings in the park to add greenery. Then they will gather all residents and discuss about need of separating dry waste and see that they start practicing it.

Highlights:
1.       MHFI provided Rs.113, 500 for procuring materials and expenses for the project.
2.       Here we have done plantation activity across the park
3.       Explained about wastage and ways of protecting the environment
4.       Constructed Merry – go –round and Climbers for playing the children’s in the park

Impact:
·         This project will help the children residing nearby locality for their physical growth
·         This project will also help the society member to make their society clean and green.
·         Plantation activity will make the park to increase the greenery.

About Community Impact Program: McGraw-Hill Financial ( www.mhfi.com ) the company which strongly believes in the motto, 'Giving back is essential'. MHFI encourages its employees to work for service projects in which 20+ employees would be working together and for solving public problems in their community to build better lives and stronger communities. MHFI grants $2000 per project and employees spend their personal time on the project. This year S&P Capital IQ, Hyderabad (part of MHFI group www.spcapitaliq.com ) employees applied for projects from various areas.
