Update about service project conducted by employees of S&P Capital IQ (www.spcapitaliq.com) - Business unit of McGraw Hill Financial (www.mhfi.com), Hyderabad, India.

Project Location: S.S.S.M.H. School, Prashanth Nagar, Sangareddy, Medak District, Telangana, India
About the Project: This is a Saraswathi charitable school run for educating underprivileged students and lacks various basic facilities like proper furniture and sports equipment to engage students. Also there is lack of education facilities to learn on computer labs. They are unaware about value of education and how it can support their survival. Volunteers can bring that awareness among them with various works. Sri Saraswathi shishu mandir, Prashanth Nagar society is a service organization affiliated to “Akhila Bharathiya Shiksha Samsthan” working for throughout the country. This school has class I to X which consists of 250+ students. We are promoting Education, Cultural values, Patriotism and for national integrity among the students. As a scientific approach the medium of instruction is mother tongue Telugu, but rapid change of Parental trend for English medium schools, we are started English medium classes from nursery for which we are failing for infrastructure facilities for students.

Activity: Volunteers will gather information suitable to the knowledge of students to train them in various leadership qualities to add value to their life and deliver those points on CIM day in small interactive groups. And also involves in painting, planting saplings, conducting quiz and sports competitions and distributing prizes to students. In addition to that they will arrange furniture and sports equipment to school. They also will motivate students to dream big and achieve big.
Date & Time: 22nd June, 2015 from10am to 5pm

Highlights:
1.       MHFI provided Rs.120,000 for procuring materials and expenses for the project
2.       Providing School Benches for 80 Primary School Students
3.       Providing overview of various industries and job profiles to high school students
4.       Provided guidance to high school students about various subjects to read and skills need to develop
5.       Cleaning the premises
6.       Providing Sports and Play equipment material to students
7.       Conducting quiz and essay writing sessions to students.
8.       Career Guidance classes to students.
9.       Conducted games and distributed prizes

Impact:
There are 250 students currently enrolled in the school. They will get inspiration from volunteers and concentrate on their studies by setting clear goals to learn and grow. In addition to that school will become better equipped with good facilities.

About Community Impact Program: McGraw-Hill Financial ( www.mhfi.com ) the company which strongly believes in the motto, 'Giving back is essential'. MHFI encourages its employees to work for service projects in which 25+ employees would be working together and for solving public problems in their community to build better lives and stronger communities. MHFI grants $2000 per project and employees spend their personal time on the project. This year S&P Capital IQ, Hyderabad (part of MHFI group www.spcapitaliq.com ) employees applied for projects from various areas.
