Update about service project conducted by employees of S&P Capital IQ (www.spcapitaliq.com) - Business unit of McGraw Hill Financial (www.mhfi.com), Hyderabad, India.

Project Location: Government Primary School, Goshamahal, Police Line, Hyderabad, Telangana, India
About the Project: GPS, Goshamahal is a government school run for educating underprivileged students. In Goshamahal area some parents prefer their children go work rather than to school so that they can earn extra income for their family. This causes illiteracy, poverty as well as some social issues when child grows up.  This needs intervention of well-wishers of the society to educate parents and this school also lacks various basic facilities like proper furniture and sports equipment to engage students

Activity: Volunteers need to gather data of various school drop outs and go to door to door and meet them, discuss and understand reasons for their discontinuation and guide them on how their short term efforts will lead for better future. In addition to that they will arrange furniture and sports equipment to school to attract and students retain in school. They also will motivate students to dream big and achieve big.
Date & Time: 15th June, 2015 from 09 AM to 5 PM

Highlights:
1.       MHFI provided Rs.120,000 for procuring materials and expenses for the project
2.       Provided 24 Primary School Benches for 200 Students
3.       Provided 02 Steel Water dispenser & Sports Material to Students.
4.       White Wash and Painting to School Building.
5.       Painted Black Boards
6.       Cleaning the School Premises
7.       Plantation
8.       Conducted games and distributed prizes

Impact:
There are 200 students currently enrolled in the school. They will get inspiration from volunteers and concentrate on their studies by setting clear goals to learn and grow. In addition to that school will become better equipped with good facilities. Also 100+ dropouts who might end up as unemployed or aimless will get direction and may come into right direction.

About Community Impact Program: McGraw-Hill Financial ( www.mhfi.com ) the company which strongly believes in the motto, 'Giving back is essential'. MHFI encourages its employees to work for service projects in which 25+ employees would be working together and for solving public problems in their community to build better lives and stronger communities. MHFI grants $2000 per project and employees spend their personal time on the project. This year S&P Capital IQ, Hyderabad (part of MHFI group www.spcapitaliq.com ) employees applied for projects from various areas.

Jameel Ahmed (Project Leader): It’s a great honor to me for giving a chance to handle the CIM project. Under this project, we donated Scholl Benches and Sports Kit to the School, and have motivated students towards reaching goals and a good human being. We also planted saplings in the School ground. It’s a great experience. Thanks to S&P Capital IQ and my volunteers for their support.

Sayed Kalimulla Basheban:  I would like to congratulate on your success of the project, as well as thank, for providing me an opportunity to be a part of such project where we can inspire and share our experiences. It was an amazing project. Hope you will continue this. 

Khaja Sirajuddin Syed: “Service to humanity is Service to God”. Another warm experience for me. I believe this Programme will surely raise their interest to study and try to become a good citizen inspired by the wonderful & fun filled suggestions from Mr. Prabhakar Sir. Nice initiative from Mr. Jameel Ahmed and I am thankful to him for inviting me to be a part of it. I felt the Programme has initiated a new zeal in the students and it would hopefully be a good beginning for their new academic year, their excitement levels were sky high. The way they took part in all the different activities (Quiz competition, games etc.) we conducted showed it all. Kudos to Jameel. Gr8 work and thanks to our esteemed organization for the encouragement to carry out this Programme.

Shaik Shoaib Ahmed: Really It was my good experience at GDV project lead by Jameel Ahmed, our support for the improvement and of that school and the children led me for participate such projects.in addition, I would also encourage others to visit, observe and be a part of such social activities.

Qazi Mohammed Abdullah Siddiqi: It was good to be part of CIM project at gosha mahel Government school, which really benefits the school children. We could find the happiness on their faces.
