About CIM (Giving back is Essential)
Lead India 2020 Foundation (www.leadindia2020.org) partnered with McGraw-Hill Financial (www.mhfi.com) the company which strongly believes in the motto, 'Giving back is essential'. It extends to giving back to the society. This year MHFI has launched Community Impact Month (CIM) in which 20+ employees would be working together and for solving public problems in their community. MHFI grants $2000 per project and employees spend their personal time on the project. This year S&P Capital IQ (part of MHFI group) (www.capitaliq.com) employees applied for projects from various areas. These employees are working tirelessly to fulfill the motto and render true meaning to 'Giving back is essential'.
Below are details of one of the CIM projects.
About Primary Health Center, Kesam Pet
The PHC is located at Kesam Pet mandal, 70 kms from our S&P Capital IQ, Hyderabad.
People living in and around Kesam Pet mandal visit to the PHC for their health problems.
The PHC conducts special health camp to kids and pregnant women on Wednesdays and Fridays respectively.
The PHC gives free medicines to patients.
Present problems at PHC
The drainage systems in the PHC are not working and there are many blockages in the sanitary pipe line. The patients are facing problems particularly pregnant women are facing problems when they come for monthly check ups. There is no proper water storage facility problem in the PHC.
Volunteer work done at PHC, Kesam Pet
Keeping in mind these problems, S&P Capital IQ Hyderabad conducted a CIM event at PHC on July 7th 2014.
New sanitary pipeline was installed in the hospital.
Repaired six wash rooms by replacing water tapes, pipes, and other plumbing material.
Donated IV fluids stands and cots to hospital staff.
Donated and installed a dome light at the hospital main gate.
Cleaned and planted saplings in the hospital premises.
Impact of Volunteer work at PHC, Kesam Pet
Patients will be able to use the six wash rooms leading to a hassle free treatment period at the PHC.
With the storage of water in the overhead tank the water problem is solved.
Cleanliness in the hospital premises are maintaining by hospital staff.
There is a enough illumination at the PHC to function in the night as well.

Satyam Aadepu: “Find yourself if in the service to others” said by Mahatma Gandhi. So, I did it today thru providing basic facilities to the patients in the PHC.

1. Six washrooms functioning well.

The works you took up at the PHC, Kesampet in providing of basic needs is very valuable and are worthy to be followed by others.
