About CIM (Giving back is Essential)
Lead India 2020 Foundation (www.leadindia2020.org) partnered with McGraw-Hill Financial (www.mhfi.com) the company which strongly believes in the motto, 'Giving back is essential'. It extends to giving back to the society. This year MHFI has launched Community Impact Month (CIM) in which 20+ employees would be working together and for solving public problems in their community. MHFI grants $2000 per project and employees spend their personal time on the project. This year S&P Capital IQ (part of MHFI group) (www.capitaliq.com) employees applied for projects from various areas. These employees are working tirelessly to fulfill the motto and render true meaning to 'Giving back is essential'.
Below are details of one of the CIM projects.
About Laxmi sai meadows colony
This is a newly developed colony at Ameenpur village area (Panchayat).
Approximately 200 families are reside in the colony
Current problems at Laxmi sai meadows colony:
The colony is near by Patancheruvu industrial area. The colony is having huge roads without any plants, which is resulting colony residents being affected by air pollution.
Volunteer work:
Keeping in mind these problems, S&P Capital IQ Hyd. conducted a CIM event at Laxmi sai meadows colony on June 16, 2014
The volunteers and colony residents have planted more than 150 saplings and fixed tree guards around the colony.
We have also conducted an awareness session of pollution and ways to tackle it.
Impact of CIM at Laxmi sai meadows colony:
These plants will grow faster and provide fresh air, as well as shadow to the residents of this colony. The colony association has promised to protect these plants. The awareness session has motivated residents to protect the environment and plant more saplings.
Feedback of volunteers:
Mallesh Alwarthi (Project leader): This is my 2nd CIM as a leader. I felt immense happiness by conducting this project in my own colony. I have tried to give something back to society and environment.
Rajesh N: It’s a great feeling to be a part of the change process and contributing something for the cause. We are taking everything from environment, but this time I have tried to give something back to the environment.
Santhosh Kumar Gunda: I believe projects like this are very a good opportunity to service the society. I am very happy play my part in this CIM project.
Feedback of beneficiaries:
Colony President: I am very happy the S&P Capital IQ took up this project in our colony. I promise that we will not only safeguard the existing plants but will also plant more saplings.
Village Sarpanch: I am very happy that S&P Capital IQ is taking up projects like this for the betterment of the society. The way they have motivated all the volunteers and residents of the colony to participate with joy and enthusiasm in this program is commendable.
