About CIM (Giving back is Essential)
Lead India 2020 Foundation (www.leadindia2020.org) partnered with McGraw-Hill Financial (www.mhfi.com) the company which strongly believes in the motto, 'Giving back is essential'. It extends to giving back to the society. This year MHFI has launched Community Impact Month (CIM) in which 20+ employees would be working together and for solving public problems in their community. MHFI grants $2000 per project and employees spend their personal time on the project. This year S&P Capital IQ (part of MHFI group) (www.capitaliq.com) employees applied for projects from various areas. These employees are working tirelessly to fulfill the motto and render true meaning to 'Giving back is essential'.
CIM Highlights of Construction of Water Tanks at Sangem Village, Mahabubnagar
About CIM Project
The Sangem Village is situated at a distance of 60 KMs from Capital IQ, Hyderabad office.
The village during summer are facing severe water crisis, at times bore wells are also not working due power outages.
Volunteer work at Sangem Village
Keeping in mind these problems, S&P Capital IQ, Hyderbad has conducted a CIM event at Sangem village on 15th June 2014
Volunteer works on the CIM day:
- Cleaning the premises of water tanks.
- Conducted games and awareness to students and prize distribution.
- Plantation beside the road and other premises.
- Volunteers gave awareness on conserving water and plantation.
- Helped in the construction of water tanks.
Impact of the CIM project
Now the Villagers will not face water problem even in the summer season as well. Even if power cuts are there, they will get have water. The water conversation session created awareness among villagers how to use, save, and store water. The water tank provided nearby bus stop is providing water to the commuters as well.
Feedback of the beneficiaries and CIM Volunteers
Muralidhar Reddy (Sarpanch): I am happy with all your great work. I happy as the village won’t be facing the problem of water scarcity and tank provided nearby bus stop is also very helpful. Thanks to S&P Capital IQ and its volunteers for conducting this activity in our village.
Bharathamma (House wife) : The Tap water comes in the morning and we were unable to fetch water as at that time we will be either working or going for the work. After working all day and reaching home then I used to go to fetch water from a very long distance. As your company provided water tanks we will be able get water any time and I can spend more time with my family. Thanks to S&P Capital IQ and its volunteers
Thirumalesham (Ward member): This is a good initiation from S&P Capital IQ. We are so happy with water tanks. These tanks will not only help housewives but also others, such as milk man, vegetable merchants. These are especially useful whose houses are constructed at a higher level than normal, as normal water taps are not bring able to provide water there.
Volunteers Feedback:
Raja Thangavelu (Project Leader): If these kind of projects are encouraged and supported then I am sure by 2020 our villages will become hygienic, clean, green, and self-sufficient. We could see fruits of our work here and we will hope they manifold in future. It is a pleasure to lead this project.
Mandalapu Srinivasa Rao: I am very happy with our company CIM project. Giving back to our villages, which are the backbone of our country gives me even more happiness. Our work definitely reduces strain of housewives in fetching water.
Chiranjeevi Nainavarapu: I am much satisfied with our work in this village. Giving back to needy is very essential. I hope will take up more CIM projects in villages.
Swathi Gutta: Providing water tanks in the village is a good work. The housewives are so happy with our work. I am very glad to be part of this event. By the looks of it, we need to take up more projects like this in villages.
Kishore Kumar Reddy Nalabolu: I am happy and proud to work with S&P Capital IQ. Giving back is essential as society gives us much more. Today because of our company’s CIM activity I am part of this noble cause. The happiness on the faces of villagers gives me much more satisfaction.
