About CIM (Giving back is Essential)

Lead India 2020 Foundation (www.leadindia2020.org) partnered with McGraw-Hill Financial (www.mhfi.com) the company which strongly believes in the motto, 'Giving back is essential'. It extends to giving back to the society. This year MHFI has launched Community Impact Month (CIM) in which 20+ employees would be working together and for solving public problems in their community. MHFI grants $2000 per project and employees spend their personal time on the project. This year S&P Capital IQ (part of MHFI group) (www.capitaliq.com) employees applied for projects from various areas. These employees are working tirelessly to fulfill the motto and render true meaning to 'Giving back is essential'.

Below are details of one of the CIM projects.

About Lake-Hydershahkote

Lakes play a very important role in the improvement of the ground water levels.

Hydershahkote Lake is situated in Ranga Reddy District.

It helps the people around by Improving the underground water Levels and animals for drinking water.

It is situated in the center of the village which creates a pleasant environment for the people around.

Present problems at Lake, - Hydershahkote

The lake is totally covered with all unnecessary plants and dumped waste.

The village is facing water scarcity.

The waste dumped on the banks of the lank is leading to an unhygienic environment for the residents of the colonies around the lake.

Volunteer work done at Lake - Hydershahkote

Keeping in view these problems, S&P Capital IQ Hyd. conducted a CIM event at Hydershahkote Lake on June 2, 2014

Removed all the waste plants and grass weeds in and around the lake.

Removed the wastage and educated the people in the surroundings not to dump the waste near lake.

Repaired the canals that were closed due to development of colonies.

Developed a pipeline from adjacent colonies into the lake.

Cleaned and planted saplings around the Lake Premises

Impact of Volunteer work at - Hydershahkote

After the CIM project, the entire lake was clean from the weeds, waste plants, and waste. This helps the colony people in developing a good and healthy environment by improving greenery around the lake. As the lake was cleaned from unnecessary trees this would help the ground to absorb more water in rainy season and thus improve the underground water levels. The water scarcity in the village will be reduced to a major extent as a result of increased water levels.
