About Community Impact Month (Giving back is Essential)
Lead India 2020 Foundation (www.leadindia2020.org) partnered with McGraw-Hill Financial (www.mhfi.com) the company which strongly believes in the motto, 'Giving back is essential'. It extends to giving back to the society. This year MHFI has launched Community Impact Month (CIM) in which 20+ employees would be working together and for solving public problems in their community. MHFI grants $2000 per project and employees spend their personal time on the project. This year S&P Capital IQ (part of MHFI group) (www.capitaliq.com) employees applied for projects from various areas. These employees are working tirelessly to fulfill the motto and render true meaning to 'Giving back is essential'.
Below are details of one of the CIM projects.
About Sri Saraswati Sisu Mandir, KPHB-Hyderabad
The school consists of 360 students from class LKG to X.
Current problems at Sri Saraswathi Sisu Mandir
The school lacks basic amenities, such as benches and tables.
As most of the school students come from a below middle class background, they lack proper guidance towards their career, life, and society.
Voluntary work involved on the day at Sri Saraswati Sisu Mandir, KPHB-Hyderabad
Conducted games, essay, elocution, quiz, and other competitions
Donated and arranged benches and tables in the school
Donated sports material to school management.
Conducted Life Skills Training and Career guidance sessions.
Impact of Volunteer work at Sri Saraswati Sisu Mandir, KPHB-Hyderabad
After the CIM project, all the class rooms of school now have benches for students, which enable and encourage them to concentrate on their studies. The Life Skills Training and Career Guidance sessions resulted in helping the students understand their responsibilities towards the society and balance their personal and social goals. This project will now enable students to set their goals for their better future.
