About Community Impact Month (Giving back is Essential):

 

Lead India 2020 Foundation (www.leadindia2020.org) partnered with McGraw-Hill Financial (www.mhfi.com) the company which strongly believes in the motto, 'Giving back is essential'. It extends to giving back to the society. This year MHFI has launched Community Impact Month (CIM) in which 20+ employees would be working together and for solving public problems in their community. MHFI grants $2000 per project and employees spend their personal time on the project. This year S&P Capital IQ (part of MHFI group) (www.capitaliq.com) employees applied for projects from various areas. These employees are working tirelessly to fulfill the motto and render true meaning to 'Giving back is essential'.

 

Below are details of one of the CIM projects.

 

About Sri SaraswathiSisuMandir-Shadnagar:

 

Sri Saraswathi Sisu Mandir High School is situated at a distance of 50 KMs from Capital IQ, Hyderabad office.

Approximately 214 students study in this High school

 

Present problems at Sri SaraswathiSisuMandir-Shadnagar

 

The school does not have proper infrastructure facilities, such as toilets and sport materials resulting in drop outs.

The students being from a rural background does not have awareness on various career paths.

 

Volunteer work at Sri SaraswathiSisuMandir-Shadnagar

 

Keeping in mind these problems, S&P Capital IQ Hyd. conducted a CIM event at Sri SaraswathiSisuMandir-Shadnagar-Mahabubnagar District on June 30,2014.

 

Helped in the construction works at school

Conducted career guidance session for the students

Conducted games and distributed prizes for the winners

Cleaned the school premises and planted saplings

The improved infrastructure will lead to improved teaching and will also decrease the drop-outs. With awareness on career options students will now choose the area of their interest wisely.

 

Feedback of the CIM Volunteers

 

Naga Sankar Rao (Leader): It’s a good opportunity to serve the schools and I am very happy to be part of this successful CIM event. I thank S&P Capital IQ for giving me an opportunity to coordinate and lead the event. I hope this event will bring a positive change in the student’s lives. I thank all the team members who made this event a grand success. I will always be ready take part in these type of events in future. Catch you soon all my team members!!!

 

Anbarsi Malay: This is my first CIM project. Before this, I have attended certain social responsibility projects, but this is very special for me. I am really satisfied that I have done some valuable service to the society. I was able to develop and motivate the students in rural areas. Thanks for allowing me to take a part in this type of project.

 

Lal Bahadur Shaik: I thank our CIM leader for giving me this opportunity to participate in the CIM program. The aim of the program is to develop environment of the school, as well as to motivate and guide the students towards their career Goals. I felt we were able to achieve the goals of this project. It’s a good experience to serve the students with the help of our colleagues. We are feeling very proud to part of this project. I convey best wishes for the upcoming projects.

 

Suresh Goggura: I am very happy to be a part of this project. It is a great opportunity to serve the society and spend time with school children and my colleagues. Thank you for giving me this opportunity.

 

Sri Hari Gopala Krishna Ganji: It was a very nice experience working with the team. It was very nice interacting with the kids and enjoying with them. Thanks for the opportunity. I would like to be the part of such CIM projects again.

 

Uma Devi Yekula: I thank everybody that is responsible for giving me this opportunity to participate in this noble cause. The team members are very cordial and friendly in nature. I am elated to work with such a nice team. I would like to congratulate the students for their dedication in studies, as well as school staff for their sincerity.

 

Sisinty Puja Patro: It’s an honor to serve the society. I am mesmerized by the way students received the team. I am looking forward to participate in the projects of this kind in future.

 

Speaker Syamlappa chari: I convey my special thanks to the leader & voluntary team members of S&P Capital IQ for conducting this program and providing the basic facilities, such as toilets. From the past 20 days Naga Sankar and his team has been visiting the school to identify the most important necessities of the school. They have not only spent their valuable time with us but also fulfilled our needs & shared our memories. Once again thanks to S&P Capital IQ for providing the basis facilities to our students.
