About Community Impact Month (Giving back is Essential)
Lead India 2020 Foundation (www.leadindia2020.org) partnered with McGraw-Hill Financial (www.mhfi.com) the company which strongly believes in the motto, 'Giving back is essential'. It extends to giving back to the society. This year MHFI has launched Community Impact Month (CIM) in which 20+ employees would be working together and for solving public problems in their community. MHFI grants $2000 per project and employees spend their personal time on the project. This year S&P Capital IQ (part of MHFI group) (www.capitaliq.com) employees applied for projects from various areas. These employees are working tirelessly to fulfill the motto and render true meaning to 'Giving back is essential'.
Below are details of one of the CIM projects.
About Miyapur Primary School
Current problems:
As the boundary wall of the school is of short height and as a result of which unsocial elements are causing damage to the school properties during non-schooling hours.
The school also doesn’t have benches and sports equipment for the children.
Volunteer work done at the School
Keeping in mind these problems, S&P Capital IQ Hyd. conducted a CIM event at the School on June 16th, 2014.
Motivated school children regarding the value of learning and education in life.
Helped in the construction of boundary wall of the school.
Cleaned the premises of the school
Distributed stationary, including pencils, rubber, sharper, and note books to all school children.
Donated sports material to the school.
Donated desk and benches to the school for 4th and 5th class students.
Conducting games and distributed prizes.
Impact of Volunteer work
After the CIM project, the school are now well protected from three sides as the boundary wall in now almost 8 feet from the ground and will be protected from miscreants entering the school premises. Further, the headmaster and the teaching staff will be able to conduct games and sports in the school by using our sports materials and make the school as a fun learning place. With the provision of benches students will now be able to concentrate better on their studies.
