About Community Impact Month (Giving back is Essential) :

Lead India 2020 Foundation (www.leadindia2020.org) partnered with McGraw-Hill Financial (www.mhfi.com) the company which strongly believes in the motto, 'Giving back is essential'. It extends to giving back to the society. This year MHFI has launched Community Impact Month (CIM) in which 20+ employees would be working together and for solving public problems in their community. MHFI grants $2000 per project and employees spend their personal time on the project. This year S&P Capital IQ (part of MHFI group) (www.capitaliq.com) employees applied for projects from various areas. These employees are working tirelessly to fulfill the motto and render true meaning to 'Giving back is essential'.

Below are details of one of the CIM projects.

About Navalga ZPHS School:

Navalga ZPHS School has located in Navalga Village which is 135 KM from our Hyderabad Office. Around 400 students are studying in this ZPHS School.

Present problems at ZPHS, Navalga

  • There are no benches in the classrooms
  • School doesn’t have any sports equipment


Contribution by CIQ and volunteers on CIM day

Keeping in mind these problems, S&P Capital IQ Hyd. conducted a CIM event on 7th July in ZPHS, Navalga Village.

  1. We donated 40 benches to the school.
  2. Sports material distributed to the school.
  3. Explained about S&P Capital IQ and CIM program.
  4. Volunteers cleaned the school premises and planted the trees.
  5. Volunteers conducted Quiz competition and other motivational games for school children and distributed prizes to winners.
  6. Volunteers conducted awareness programme on career guidance to school children.
  7. Distributed books to school children.


Impact of Volunteers work at Navalga ZPHS

The students are happy and excited to sit on benches. Through our carer guidance programme we cleared so many confusions among them and constructed a career path in their minds. They got some knowledge through Quiz and motivational programmes. They took an oath that they will safeguard the benches and all donated items’ since it will be useful for next year batches. Every school children have committed that they will do hard work and attain higher percentage of marks than their previous years. The social responsibility and selfless service of our volunteers was highly appreciated by school and local authorities.

Veera Raghava (Project Leader)
I am very happy to participate in CIM Project. Previously they do not have benches to sit in this school and don’t have sports equipments to play. I utilized this CIM programme to give them want they need. I felt very happy and I will never forget these memorable moments. I saw happiness in those poor children’s’ eyes. I have learnt a lot through this CIM Project. It gave a lot of satisfaction to me. I am really thankful to our MHFI for giving an opportunity to lead and participate in this CIM Project.
Lakshmana babu Kavali (Project co Leader)
I thank everybody who is responsible for giving me the opportunity to work for students in ZPHS Navalga. I saw the happiness in the eyes of student after seeing benches. They participated enthusiastically in essay writing, drawing, and quiz competitions. I had a very good interaction with student, guided them on their career, and conducted games. I am very happy and this is the happiest moment in my life.

Kshira Sagara Sai Achanta
We were able to bring happiness in to the faces of children by providing benches. School and Local authorities have appreciated us for reaching out to the remote areas through our community impact month. They promised that they will utilize and safeguard these facilities. I hope that we will conduct this kind of support and service for the remote areas in the days to come, where it is really in need.

Ramesh Pasla
I feel very happy and proud to be part of this project, thanks to management for giving me such a great opportunity to the employees. I had enjoyed while sharing my opinions and thoughts related to environment protection and career path with school children. I have also learnt lot of things personally by involving in this project. Finally it’s a nice and pleasant experience to me, I would like to do more activities like this in future.

Nagaraju Indukuri
It was a pleasurable responsibility to be a volunteer for this program. With our initiation, the children will have the benches to sit. The sports equipment will develop children’s physical strength. I am thankful to S&P Capital IQ for providing an opportunity to participate in this program.

Kasi Viswanadha Sarma Ganti
It was a good opportunity to serve the needy. Working for the welfare of society gives self satisfaction. I’m happy to be part of this event. I am looking forward to participate in more CIM events.

I feel very happy to be part of this CIM project. Involving in such kind of social service gives me immense pleasure. I will always be ready to extend my service on such platform.
