About Community Impact Month (Giving back is Essential)
Lead India 2020 Foundation (www.leadindia2020.org) partnered with McGraw-Hill Financial (www.mhfi.com) the company which strongly believes in the motto, 'Giving back is essential'. It extends to giving back to the society. This year MHFI has launched Community Impact Month (CIM) in which 20+ employees would be working together and for solving public problems in their community. MHFI grants $2000 per project and employees spend their personal time on the project. This year S&P Capital IQ (part of MHFI group) (www.capitaliq.com) employees applied for projects from various areas. These  employees are working tirelessly to fulfil the motto and render true meaning to 'Giving back is essential'.

Below are the details of one such project:

About Shivapally Village and their needs

  1. This village consists of 1200 families.
  2. Students need suitable books to prepare competitive exams and academic exams


Volunteer work done at Uttatoor Village
Keeping in mind these needs, S&P Capital IQ Hyd. conducted a CIM event at Utthatoor village on June 15, 2014.

  • Inaugurated Library
  • Spoke on the importance of book and newspaper reading to students and village people
  • Explained the importance of education and career


Impact of CIM project at Library and School at Uttatoor Village

After conducting the CIM project, the villagers and students understood the importance of learning and career development. The library and resultant sessions inculcated the habit of reading in the villagers, which will lead the way to an enlightened society.

Feedback of the CIM Volunteers

Praveen Shivakoti:
It a great opportunity to serve the society and am very happy to be part of this successful CIM event. I thank S&P Capital IQ for giving me this opportunity to coordinate and lead this event. Looking forward to be part of many more events, and kudos to the entire team for their support and enthusiastic participation in this event. The Library we inaugurated is very useful to the students, who are preparing for competitive exams, as well as to the common people.

It is great to serve the society for a good cause. Thanks for making me a part of this good cause. These kinds of programs inspire mankind to contribute to the society. As a Co-leader I am thank full to my colleagues for their support.

I am very happy to be apart of this CIM project and spending time with children is very nice and enriching.

It was a wonderful day to serve the people by providing school benches, and fans, as well as new library facilities to village people.

Venkata Ramanaiah Munapati:
I am very proud to do service that will direct result in educating people. This is the first time I have worked on these type of projects. Going forward I will continue to contribute as a volunteer for any kind of project.

Ravi Kumar Kurella:
As a first-time volunteer, it was a memorable experience for me to be a part of this community impact project. Thank you for all the volunteers who spare their valuable time in this project. Hope we will do such projects in future as well.
