About Community Impact Program: McGraw-Hill Financial (www.mhfi.com ), the company which strongly believes in the motto, 'Giving back is essential'. MHFI encourages its employees to work for service projects in which 3+ employees would be working together for solving public problems in their community to build better lives and stronger communities. MHFI grants $1000 per project and employees spend their personal time on the project. This year S&P Capital IQ, Hyderabad (part of MHFI group) employees applied for projects from various areas of the Nation to serve the society under Employee Volunteer Grant (EVG).

Project Location: M.P.P. School, Mulipadu Village, Sondipudi Post, Mandasa Mandalam, Srikakulam District, Andhra Pradesh, India, 532242.

About the Project: MPP School, Mulipadu, Srikakulam is situated at a distance of 920 KMs from Capital IQ, Hyderabad office. Mrs. Y.Sujatha (Head Master) was approached us to support the M.P.P. School. The school was almost 30 years old. The School has 50 students, they requested for water facility for washrooms and Kitchen shed renovation and purified water for students.

Activity: Provided guidance to the students, provided purified water, Painting Blackboards, Planting trees, Conducted quiz & games and distributed prizes.

Highlights:

1. MHFI provided Rs.60,000 for procuring materials and expenses for the project

2. Volunteers Conducted Career guidance to the students

3. Educating the children about the value of Parents and teachers.

4. Painting Blackboards

5. Cleaning of school premises with the help of students

6. Plantation in the School Premises

7. Conducted Games and Distributed prizes.

Impact:

Now the school washrooms are Facilitated with Water, and now the school is facilitated with Purified water, all the students are confident on their career, the students got the availability of Computer education and the parents, teachers, students and village people are feeling happy with this service activity done at the school by S&P Capital IQ

Ajit kumar Sannasetti (Project Leader): It is a great opportunity to every employee to serve the society. I would like to personally thank to our Organization and CIM Committee for designing of Employee Volunteer Grant Program and thanks for giving this opportunity to serve a School Located in my Village. I have seen the happiness of School Staff, Village natives, School Children, Family and friends as the leading corporate company came forward to serve the society. My heart full “Thanks” to the volunteers for spending their valuable time in making this project a great success. With their energy and enthusiastic support I could do this.

Ramkumar Akumarthi (volunteer): First of all I would like to thank my project leader Ajit kumar Sannasetti and S&P Capital IQ for giving me the wonderful opportunity. I am very much glad to be a part of such a nice and wonderful EVG project. School children and Staff were very happy about the services we did. I also enjoyed in participating Blackboard painting, Conducting Games to children and giving suggestions for their future goals.
