Update about the service project conducted by employees of S&P Capital IQ, www.spcapitaliq.com, Hyderabad - (Business unit of McGraw Hill Financial www.mhfi.com )

About Community Impact Program: McGraw-Hill Financial (www.mhfi.com ), the company which strongly believes in the motto, 'Giving back is essential'. MHFI encourages its employees to work for service projects in which 3+ employees would be working together for solving public problems in their community to build better lives and stronger communities. MHFI grants $1000 per project and employees spend their personal time on the project. This year S&P Capital IQ, Hyderabad (part of MHFI group) employees applied for projects from various areas of the Nation to serve the society under Employee Volunteer Grant (EVG).

Project Location: Aided Primary School, Chammachintha Village, Nathavaram Mandal, Visakhapatnam District, Andhra Pradesh, India, 531115.
About the Project:  Aided Primary School, Chammachintha is located in Visakhapatnam district which is nearly 600 KMs from S&P Capital IQ, Hyderabad. In this school, nearly more than 70 students are studying. All the students from economically backward and financially poor families. And more than 75% students are the children of daily labor families. This school has one building with one complete room and one hall only where 1st to 5th standard classes are running. As it is not sufficient to run 5 classes of 70 students in one building, the staff of that school constructed a hut and using it for two classes temporarily. They are not also getting funds from Govt. for infrastructure and development of the school. This school’s H.M. Satyababu sir approached us and requested for financial support to construct an additional classroom which is most required right now. If S&P Capital IQ do so, it will be more helpful to the students to overcome many problems and study well.
Non Profit Partner: Aadarana
Project Leader: Bhaskar Vanimina
Activity: Interaction with the students, cleaning the premises, plantation, gardening, inauguration of additional classroom.
Date & Time: 21st Dec, 2015 from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm
Number of Volunteers: 3

4.       Conducted games to the students and prizes are given to the winners.
5.       Cleaning the school premises and planted the saplings
6.       Handing over the sports material and equipment to the school staff.

Impact:
Previously the students used to sit on the ground and 2 to 3 classes’ students are accommodated at one place. It creates more confusion and disturbance. With the financial support from S&P Capital IQ, one additional classroom was constructed. Now 1 or 2 classes can be separated and accommodated in a safe and secure area to attend the classes. School staff, villagers and students are happy at the works done at the school by S&P Capital IQ.
