Lead
India 2020 Foundation (www.leadindia2020.org) partnered with McGraw-Hill
Financial (www.mhfi.com) the company which strongly believes in the motto,
'Giving back is essential'. It extends to giving back to the society. This year
MHFI has launched Community Impact Month (CIM) in which 20+ employees would be
working together and for solving public problems in their community. MHFI grants
$2000 per project and employees spend their personal time on the project. This
year S&P Capital IQ (part of MHFI group) (www.capitaliq.com) employees
applied for projects from various areas. These employees are working tirelessly
to fulfill the motto and render true meaning to 'Giving back is essential'.
CIM HIGHLIGHTS:
About the Project:
Rainwater harvesting pits at at Kondapur and Kukatpally.
Rainwater harvesting is the accumulation and deposition of
rainwater and uses are as below

Underground water levels will be increased
·
The residents of Multistoried Complexes can safely utilize Rain
Water for their Domestic requirements by way of filtering it and collecting
into their sump and also can recharge their bore wells or tube wells.
·
Minimize Public water tankers usage
·
Used for drinking water
·
Used for garden
·
Used for irrigation
·
Support Urban water and industrial demand
·
Meet future water demand
Pre GVD activities:
1. Digging
water harvest pits various places
2. Laying
different layers with Metal stones, sand, and coal etc. in the pits
Voluntary work involved on the GVD Day:

Brief introduction about Capital IQ and GVD Program.
Ø
Conduct awareness campaign for ward members and local people
about importance of Rain water harvesting pits.
Ø Educating
the ward members about the importance of clean environment
Ø Digging

required material like Metal, sand and coal etc into the pits
