About Community Impact Month (Giving back is essential):

Lead India 2020 Foundation (www.leadindia2020.org) partnered with McGraw-Hill Financial (www.mhfi.com) the company which strongly believes in the motto, 'Giving back is essential'. It extends to giving back to the society. This year MHFI has launched Community Impact Month (CIM) in which 20+ employees would be working together and for solving public problems in their community. MHFI grants $2000 per project and employees spend their personal time on the project. This year S&P Capital IQ (part of MHFI group) (www.capitaliq.com) employees applied for projects from various areas. These employees are working tirelessly to fulfill the motto and render true meaning to 'Giving back is essential'.

About The Project:
S&P Capital IQ Hyderabad planned for 86 projects for Community Impact Month 2014. More than 110 CIM leaders and Co-leaders are now ready to work on these projects. 15th May 2014 is declared as Kickoff Day by MHFI central team. To inaugurate Community Impact Month, Hyderabad CIM team called 800+ Underprivileged High School Students from nearby charitable schools and give them complete clarity about their future plans, career path, industry level knowledge and tips to develop their skills.

Students who never had an opportunity to get exposure to the digital world......Living in remote villages……
Who think becoming teacher, doctor, police or engineer are the only options available for them…but don’t know how to become one……

Now came to know about many career options and specializations available.

There was a festive atmosphere at S&P Capital IQ, Hyderabad because of Global Kickoff (Inauguration) of Community Impact Month with 86 community service projects with a budget of Rs.110 Lakhs and Knowledge Show on INDUSTRY & CAREER OPPORTUNITIES for 800+ students from under privileged background.

We have initiated our community impact month with our 1st community service project to help 800+ high school students in deciding their career path and improving their understanding about various industries and available jobs. More than 250 employees of our company participated and presented information about industries and careers to participants.
Volunteers wonderfully coordinated by playing various roles such as School Coordinators, Tour Guides, Career Speakers, Food Administrators & Industry Speakers.

Methodology
Ø  School Coordinators invited 20+ schools for the Show with different ‘In Times’
Ø  Career Speakers explained various groups about various education lines and specializations after 10th class
Ø  Tour Guides helped them in moving in the premises through the show
Ø  Industry Speakers explained about career opportunities in 16 Industries
Ø  Food Administrators distributed food and gave sendoff to the participants
Ø  Show was conducted from 9 AM to 3 PM
Ø  250+ Volunteers spent time in 2 hour slots in coordinating on their designated work

Impact of this project
1.       ·Developed overall understanding of students on various career paths
2.       ·Helped participants to visualize industry and process with clarity
3.       ·Inspired them to decide career goal and move in right direction
4.       ·Participants got knowledge about various roles and their importance in various industries

Every volunteer interacted with all participants and educated them in their goal setting and direction.
We have received wonderful feedback from students, teachers and head masters.

Our employees in partnership with Lead India 2020 foundation planned to conduct 86 service projects at various charitable organizations, government schools, villages and public health centers and helping them to have better facilities, furniture, renovation of buildings, washrooms, lighting, drinking water, and agriculture water tank’s de-silting etc.,

More than 2000 employees are going to spend one or more days of their personal time in the months of May and June 2014 for the benefit of community around us and going to interact with underprivileged at various locations and going to do various service activities to build better society.
