About Community Impact Program: McGraw-Hill Financial (www.mhfi.com ), the company which strongly believes in the motto, 'Giving back is essential'. MHFI encourages its employees to work for service projects in which 3+ employees would be working together for solving public problems in their community to build better lives and stronger communities. MHFI grants $1000 per project and employees spend their personal time on the project. This year S&P Capital IQ, Hyderabad (part of MHFI group) employees applied for projects from various areas of the Nation to serve the society under Employee Volunteer Grant (EVG).

Project Location: M.P.U.P. School, Chengizkhan Pet, Edlapadu Mandal, Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh, India
About the Project: M.P.U.P. School is located in Chengizkhan Pet Village which is nearly 295 KM from our Hyderabad Office. It is running under State Govt. control. This is Upper primary school and More than 130 students are studying in this School. All the students originated from poor and under privileged community. This School does not have minimum infrastructure like Toilets facility, and Benches. It also doesn’t have Drinking water facility

Activity: Handover the computers to the School Staff and Opening of Water Motor
Date & Time: 28th Dec, 2015 from 10am to 2:30pm
Number of Volunteers: 3

Highlights:
1.       MHFI provided Rs.60,000 for procuring materials and expenses for the project
2.       Volunteers are handover the computers to the School Staff and Opening of Water Motor.
3.       Educating the children’s about the Environment and career.

Impact:
Previously students were suffering with water problem. They carried water through cans by using hand pump and they didn’t have water storage facility. Now Students are very happy because we provided running water facility by fixing motor pump, construction of water tank & wash basin and repairing the wash rooms. By providing 2 computers, students got a chance to build up the computer knowledge.

About the Project: Z.P.S.  School is located in AppalanarasimhaPuram Village which is nearly 200 KM from our Hyderabad Office. This School has more than 200 students and all the students are from agriculture and daily labor families. This School doesn’t have minimum infrastructure facilities like Drinking water, benches, sports material and Books racks and Electricity For classrooms.

Project Leader: Radhika Chunchu
Activity: Facilitating Water purifier and 6 Benches to the students, providing sports material, iron racks, Iron cupboard, Fans, Lights, Distributing books and conducting career guidance program to the students
Date & Time: 14th Dec, 2015 from 11am to 5pm
Number of Volunteers: 3

Highlights:
1.       MHFI provided Rs.60, 000 for procuring materials and expenses for the project
2.       Volunteers are Handover furniture and sports kit to school children and staff.
3.       Cleaning of school premises
4.       Provided Career Guidance to the students.
5.       Conducted Games to the school children and Distributed prizes to the winners.

Impact:
Through this project, now the students can drink Pure water and can sit on the benches and able to pay attention for their classes. For library, we have given Iron racks and Iron Almira for encouraging students for reading more books And also we could motivate the students by providing sports equipment to participate in the sports. Parents, teachers and students are very happy with the activities done at the school by S&P Capital IQ

This School doesn’t have minimum infrastructure facilities like benches, Drinking water, sports material and sufficient tables & chairs for classrooms. They have to sit in the classroom on the floor only to attend the classes.

About the Project:  Z.P. High School is located in Goginenipalem Village which is 371 KM from our Hyderabad Office. This School has more than 150 students and all the students are from agriculture and daily labor families. This School doesn’t have minimum infrastructure facilities like benches, Drinking water, sports material and sufficient tables & chairs for classrooms. In the School 6th & 7th class students are to sit in the classroom on the floor only to attend the classes and they are not fully aware to choose the better career paths in future and they need to be motivated and inspired for their future.

Activity: Volunteers gathered information suitable to the knowledge of students to train them in various leadership qualities to add value to their life and delivered those points on EVG day in small interactive groups. Volunteers handed over the benches to the school staff and distributed the sports material. Volunteers involved in the cleaning the premises and planted the saplings

Impact:
Now the 6th and 7th Class students will not sit on the floor, they learnt the new paths to reach the goals, and they are motivated very much from the career guidance programs conducted by me and volunteers, and they can have the motivational and inspirational Career Guidance material to refer. Parents, teachers and students are feeling happy with the motivational activities done at the school by S&P Capital IQ
