home even for using also. And now we have facilitated a 1000ltr storage tank
and a purified machine for usage and drinking. So we thought that we have
fulfilled the basic needs of students and have seen No. of student’s are
feeling happy for providing those things. And they were very troubled to
playing sports due to lack of sports material. So that, we provided sports
material to them. And now this is also will give a good result in any sports
activities to the students. And also provided note books. Especially career
guidance, all our volunteers were explained how to focus on studies, how to
utilize the time and given inputs how to behave as a human being and as a
student.

FEEDBACK OF THE VOLUNTEERS:
Sivaiah Boya
(Project Leader): First of all, I would like to thanks McGraw-Hill Financial for
conducting Employee Volunteer Program to all over India. And given wonderful
opportunity to serve the society. As well as to help my village school. My
heartfelt thanks to MHFI and S&P Capital IQ management for supporting,
encouraging me until the work is completed. It was an unforgettable movement
ever in my life to serve my own village school that to help by our company. Actually
this is my childhood dream to serve the society. So that by the help of our
company, I could able to complete my dream a bit. I am thankful to volunteers
for their valuable time, enthusiastically to serve the society.
Venkatreddy : As a part of EVG program,
we visited the Ragimekalapalli village, Ananthapur dist. of Andhra Pradesh.
Sivaiah Boya one of my collogues has taken up the project for the welfare of
the school where he studied in his childhood. The main objective of this
project is to provide some facility which they were deprived of till now. Shiva
went to his village before two days and made proper arrangements for the main
event in which we have participated on 7th Feb,2016. For his school he provided
water purifier and a water storage tank by which it’s become more convenient to
store the water and students can have potable water with this one time investment.
The school teachers and the MEO are very supportive and actively taken part in
the inauguration of the water equipment such as small motor, water tank and
purifier machine. To encourage the students about technology we provided them
with two latest computers. We also distributed the notebooks to the students
and the school staff. MEO delivered speech of overall development of children
by following which, one can be successful in her/his career. The students have
actively participated in the programs in which we conducted with enthusiasm. I
mark the day as one of my best days spent whereby I learnt something and
suggested few things to the students. Hope more of this type of programs will
be attended.
Sampat Kumar : Started with GVD and the expansion of the
projects never stopped. Now it’s the time for EVG where the motive of service
has expanded throughout the nation. First of all I would like to thank each and
everybody who are part and parcel of this coveted program. Kudos to the efforts
made by Vandemataram foundation to arrange such a massive project successfully.
I am fortunate to participate in one of the projects that has been taken up by
my collogue Mr. Sivaiah Boya at his native village named Ragimekalapalli in
Ananthapur district of Andhra Pradesh. The program was fixed well in advance
and to do the basic ground work Shiva went to his village two days before the
event day. I along with two more employees of the ownership department started
our journey day before the event and reached the village with the sports kits
and note books which need to be donated to the school students. Though it was a
Sunday (7-Feb-2016) all the staff members and most of school children attended
the event where by the village MEO inaugurated the water purification unit in the
school premises and delivered a good speech with which the students motivated
the most. We the volunteers also give some direction towards the career
development. Then we distributed the note books to the students and conduction
some singing and storytelling competition. Over all the day was spent in and
around the school students. We enjoyed a lot ourselves. At last in the evening
we bid farewell to the students and returned to Hyderabad. Hope I will attend
more no. of such programs in the coming future so that I can return something
to the society with a feel of pride.
