About Community Impact Program: McGraw-Hill Financial (www.mhfi.com ) the company which strongly believes in the motto, 'Giving back is essential'. MHFI encourages its employees to work for service projects in which 3+ employees would be working together for solving public problems in their community to build better lives and stronger communities. MHFI grants $1000 per project and employees spend their personal time on the project. This year S&P Capital IQ, Hyderabad (part of MHFI group) employees applied for projects from various areas of the Nation to serve the society under Employee Volunteer Grant (EVG).

Project Location: Z.P.H. School, Podilikondapalli Village, Giddalur Mandal, Prakasam District, Andhra Pradesh, India

About the Project: Z.P.H. School is located in Podilikondapalli Village, Giddalur Mandal, Prakasam District which is 370 KM from our Hyderabad Office. This School has more than 230+ students and all the students are from agriculture and daily labor families. These families are not affordable to send their children to private schools where they can get better education in English medium. This school has providing education to the children from 5 surrounding villages. This School doesn’t have minimum infrastructure facilities like benches, library, sports material and sufficient tables & chairs for classrooms. Though they are studying 10th class, they have to sit in the classroom on the floor only. If we can provide some of the mentioned facilities that will help them to concentrate on their studies and will get better results.

Activity: Facilitating Benches, providing sports kit to the students, conducting career guidance program.

Date & Time: 2^nd Nov, 2015 from 10 am to 2:30 pm

Number of Volunteers: 4

Highlights:

1. MHFI provided Rs.60,000 for procuring materials and expenses for the project

2. Volunteers handed over the furniture, books and sports kit to school children and staff.

3. Class room sessions on career guidance (9th and 10th class students) based on our CIM Charts

4. Cleaning of school premises

5. Distributed prizes to the rankers in each class based on latest quarterly exams.

Impact:

Now the 10th and 9th Class students need not sit on the floor. They learnt the new paths to reach the goals and got motivated very much from the career guidance programs conducted by me and volunteers. Parents, teachers and students are feeling happy with this service activity done at the school by S&P Capital IQ.

Sri Krishnudu Velpula (Project Leader): - It is a great opportunity to every employee to serve the society & that to birthplace. I would like to personally thank to our Organization for designing of Employee Volunteer Grant Program. We are all proved that distance doesn't matter when you want to give our services to needy children wherever required. I am truly thankful to MHFI and S&P Capital IQ management for giving this opportunity and I got the confidence to continue to work on CIM and EVG programs. A heartfelt “Thank You” to the volunteers for your gift of time, energy and enthusiastic support.

Mukund Rao Jalgam: - It was nice experience to spend with school children and interacting with them. Felt good to see them happy on providing basic necessities such as benches and sports kit. It will boost the children morale as we have provided prizes to the academic well performed and economically backward children.

Laxma Reddy: -It was a great experience to spend the day with school children. I am thankful to the management of S&P Capital IQ for giving me this wonderful opportunity to serve the society.

Srinivas: - All these activities has given a lot of personal satisfaction and "A Day Out" in such village with our colleagues and with less pollution rejuvenated energy. I personally thank everyone for making me, a part of such a project that will serve the students not for one time.
