the service project conducted by employees of S&P Capital IQ, www.spcapitaliq.com, Hyderabad - (Business
unit of McGraw Hill Financial www.mhfi.com )
About Community Impact Program: McGraw-Hill Financial (www.mhfi.com ) the company which strongly
believes in the motto, 'Giving back is essential'. MHFI encourages its employees
to work for service projects in which 3+ employees would be working together for
solving public problems in their community to build better lives and stronger communities.
MHFI grants $1000 per project and employees spend their personal time on the project.
This year S&P Capital IQ, Hyderabad (part of MHFI group) employees applied for
projects from various areas of the Nation to serve the society under Employee
Volunteer Grant (EVG).
Project Location: Z.P.H. School, Pedanandipadu Post and Mandal, Guntur District, Andhra
Pradesh, India
About the Project: Z.P.H. School, Pedanandipadu is located in Guntur District which
is 290 KM from our Hyderabad Office. It’s running under State Govt. control.
This school is providing education to the children who come from surrounding
villages and more than 300+ students are studying in this School. All the
students originated from farming and daily labor families. These families are
not affordable to send their children to private schools where they can get
better education in English medium and with e-Learning facilities. This school
is having good teachers to provide better education but they are not having basic
facilities such as drinking water, Sports equipment, sitting benches and etc.
If we provide some of those facilities, we can make the school better equipped
and can expect better results too.

Project Leader: Ramineni Naveen Kumar
Activity: Volunteers gathered information related to various career paths after
schooling and guide the students on EVG day. And also nurture the leadership
qualities to add value to their life. Interacted with the students and
conducted various competitions. Volunteers involved in arranging R.O. water
filter and explained the usage of R.O. filter.
Date & Time: 3rd June, 2015 from 10am to 4pm
Number of Volunteers: 3
Highlights:
1. MHFI provided Rs.60,000
for procuring materials and expenses for the project
2. Providing R.O. Water filter,
raw water storage Tank (1000 liters), 0.5 HP Mono block Motor, Drinking water bowl.
3. Cleaning the premises
4. Conducting quiz and essay
writing sessions to students.
5. Career Guidance classes
to students.
Impact:
There
are 300+ students currently enrolled in the school. They got inspiration from
volunteers and will concentrate on their studies by setting clear goals to
learn and grow. In addition to that school will become better equipped with
good facilities.

FEEDBACK OF THE VOLUNTEERS:
Naveen Kumar Ramineni: - It is great being part of
the EVG. Doing something collectively for the benefit of the society is always
satisfactory. We, as a team, thoroughly enjoyed the responsibilities. It is a
cheerful experience to see the little ones happy in the schools. We have
volunteered ourselves for a good cause. This gave us an opportunity to do
something towards social responsibility.
Raghava Govindu Chenna: - It’s been a pleasure and
wonderful experience for me to participate in the EVG program. The response
from the students and the whole team gathered there was, fabulous. I have
enjoyed the program from the start to the end. Getting together with the
students and involving them to play games has given me satisfaction and it has
become a memorable event.
Subhash Tadikonda: - It is privilege to
participate in the EVG. Giving something back to the society is always
satisfactory. I have thoroughly enjoyed being part of the EVG. We have become
children while playing with them and turned to teachers while guiding them on
career and environmental cleanliness. When the responsibility joins joy, it
becomes satisfaction. We experienced that.
