About Community Impact Program: McGraw-Hill Financial (www.mhfi.com ) the company which strongly believes in the motto, 'Giving back is essential'. MHFI encourages its employees to work for service projects in which 3+ employees would be working together for solving public problems in their community to build better lives and stronger communities. MHFI grants $1000 per project and employees spend their personal time on the project. This year S&P Capital IQ, Hyderabad (part of MHFI group) employees applied for projects from various areas of the Nation to serve the society under Employee Volunteer Grant (EVG).

Project Location: U.P. School, Anasagaram, Nelakondapally Mandal, Khammam District, Andhra Pradesh, India
About the Project:  U.P. School is located in Anasagaram Village which is 180 KM from our Hyderabad Office. This School has more than 80 students and all the students are from agriculture and daily labor families. This School doesn’t have minimum infrastructure facilities like benches, Drinking water, sports material and sufficient tables & chairs for classrooms. They have to sit in the classroom on the floor only to attend the classes.

Activity: Facilitating Benches to the students, providing sports material, Distributing books and conducting career guidance program to the students.
Date & Time: 7th Nov, 2015 from 10:00 am to 3:30pm
Number of Volunteers: 4

Highlights:
1.       MHFI provided Rs.60,000 for procuring materials and expenses for the project
2.       Volunteers are Handover furniture and sports kit to school children and staff.
3.       Cleaning of school premises
4.       Plantation in the School Premises
5.       Conducted Games to the school children and Distributed prizes to the winners.

Impact:
Through this project, now the students can sit on the benches and able to pay attention for their classes. And also we could motivated the students by providing sports equipment to participate in the. Parents, teachers and students are very happy with the activities done at the school by S&P Capital IQ.

About the Project:  M.P.P. School is located in Cherlopalem Village which is 620 KM from our Hyderabad Office. This School has more than 50 students and all the students are from agriculture and daily labor families. These families are not affordable to send their children to private schools. This School doesn’t have minimum infrastructure facilities like benches, library, reference/motivational books, sports material and sufficient tables & chairs for classrooms. They have to sit in the classroom on the floor only.

Activity: Facilitating Benches to the students and career guidance program.
Date & Time: 1st Nov, 2015 from 10:00 am to 2:30pm

Highlights:

Impact:
Now the students will not sit on the floor. They learnt the new paths to reach the goals and motivated from the career guidance program that we conducted. Parents, teachers and students are feeling happy with this service activity done at the school by S&P Capital IQ.

Project Location: Govt. High School, Kazipet Jageer, Hanamkonda Mandal, Warangal District, Telangana, India
About the Project:  Govt. High School, Kazipet Jageer is located in Warangal District which is 150 KM from our Hyderabad Office. It’s running under State Govt. control. More than 250 students are studying in this School. All the students originated from agriculturists and daily labor families. AS the School Head Master consulted us and revealed his planning for school development to have a digital class room where students will get benefitted by having recurring classes and wherever they need clarity in regard to topics. And classes can be used multiple times with separate set of recorded classes for all standards of classes.
Keeping these problems in mind, S&P Capital IQ, Hyderabad sanctioned EVG project for G.H. School, Kazipet Jageer village to facilitate the proposed amenities.
Non Profit Partner: Aadarana
Project Leader: Dharmender Pasunooti
Activity: We proposed to facilitate the amenities in career guidance program to 10th class students and installing the Digital Class Room with a Projector screen, computer and other required peripherals and the same is carried out by our volunteers.
Date & Time: 10th Oct, 2015 from10am to 3pm
Number of Volunteers: 4

Highlights:
1.       MHFI provided Rs.60,000 for procuring materials and expenses for the project
2.       Conducted Career guidance program
3.       Provided Digital Class room
4.       Distributed Note Books to students
5.       Encouraged students by conducting quiz & competitions
6.       Demo given on ‘Digital Class usage’
7.       Cleaning of the School premises.

Impact:
As the study material for Video classes are available for all standards in the high school, the related students can use the digital class room and get more benefit from the classes whenever they need. More and more classes can be covered here through digital video classes. Students & masters have been trained by a demo on ‘how to use the classroom and to make PPTs’.

FEEDBACK OF THE VOLUNTEERS:
Dharmender Pasunooti (CIM Leader): - This is my 1st EVG project as a lead, great opportunity to serve the society, very happy to be part of this successful event. The response from the school management and students is wonderful. During the inauguration of digital class, I suggested students to make use of the digital classes at max possible and reap the benefits and requested Head Master and Staff to have extracurricular activities which is least necessity at outside world, where our students are lacking. Advised students to build there communication and presentation skills and use the digital class even for power point presentations.
I thank S&P Capital IQ’s Management for giving me this opportunity to coordinate and lead this event. Looking forward to be part of many more events, and kudos to the entire team for supporting me in this event and for their enthusiastic participation.

Veera Bhadram Naik (M.E.O.): - He addressed that, Govt. schools mostly working better than the Private Schools in terms of with good & well qualified teachers, sufficient playgrounds for students to play games at the school. Congratulated the S& P Capital IQ management for providing the digital class room to the school, and requested to take up many projects in future. Further he addressed students and suggested students to use the Digital classes and improve their skills, communication.
Sundarachari (Head Master): - He presided the entire meeting and coordinated with MEO and S&P Capital IQ team. During the installation process he suggested students to involve in the process and learnt the technical aspects in it. Headmaster wished all the students to make use of the benefit of digital class and get learned with new dimensions of learning, where the world is growing day by day with IT & Communication. He conveyed his thankfulness to the management of S&P Capital IQ (MHFI) and requested to do many more projects in Warangal at other schools also where students get benefitted.
Sampath Kumar & Other Teachers: - Sampath Kumar & his co-teachers wished the students and S&P Capital IQ a very happy time and requested the students to obtain the benefits.

Project Location: S.N.S Municipal High School, NARASAPUR, West Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh, India
About the Project:  S.N.S. Municipal High School is located in West Godavari District with 447 KM from our Hyderabad office. It’s running under State Govt. control. In this High school, more than 330+ students are studying. And there is no library and knowledge books through which the students can get additional information along with the class room lectures. The school authorities are unable to provide mentioned requirements to the students due to lack of funds. If we can arrange a library with the required books and material, we would assist the students and the staff to acquire more knowledge.

Project Leader: Lakshmana Babu Kavali
Activity: Volunteers involved in fixing the fans, and involved in the career guidance and personality development training to the students on EVG day that will add value to their lives. Volunteers handed over the sports material, racks, books, tables and chairs to the school Head Master and distributed the prizes for winners.
Date & Time: 2nd Nov, 2015 from10am to 4pm
Number of Volunteers: 3

Highlights:

2.       Brief introduction about Capital IQ and EVG Program.
3.       Fitting Fans in library room and arranging Book Racks in order.

6.       Career Guidance and personality development program
7.       Conducted G.K., Quiz and Sports activities for Students.

Impact:
330+ students are able to use library facility, they learnt the new paths that available after schooling to reach the goals and get inspired from the career guidance programs conducted by volunteers. Through this EVG project, motivational and inspirational books are available to refer in the school. Now the library is ready to serve for longtime. Parents, teachers and students are feeling happy with the motivational activities done at the school by S&P Capital IQ volunteers.

Lakshmana Babu Kavali: - It is great opportunity to be part of the EVG. Doing something collectively for the benefit of my childhood school is always satisfactory. We have enjoyed whole day by serving the society. It is a memorable experience to me. We have volunteered ourselves for a good cause. We are looking forward to do some more projects towards social responsibility.
Sobhan Kumar Kosuri: - It’s always gives a good amount of satisfaction to help the needy. The EVG program which I attended is also falls under this category. I really enjoyed while interacting with the students and its pleasure to guide them on their career. I hope our company will continue and initiate programs like this in future.
Jagadeesh Thondrangi: - It’s a wonderful experience for me to participate in the EVG program and serving the society. I enjoyed spending time with students through sharing knowledge. This project made available a knowledge Centre that can motivate the students to learn more information.
