MHFI grants $1000 per project and employees spend their personal time on the project. This year S&P Capital IQ, Hyderabad (part of MHFI group) employees applied for projects from various areas of the Nation to serve the society under Employee Volunteer Grant (EVG).

Project Location: S.S.A.U.P. School, Thagarapuvalasa , Visakhapatnam District, Andhra Pradesh, India
About the Project: S.S.A.U.P. School Thagarapuvalasa is located in Visakhapatanam District, which is 665 KM from our Hyderabad Office. It’s running under State Govt. control. This is Upper primary school and More than 150 students are studying in this School. All the students originated from poor and under privileged community. This School does not have minimum infrastructure like proper benches, sports and scientific equipment.
The aim of this project is to:
1.       Distribute required benches, science equipment, sports kit etc.
2.       Provide two working computers from MHFI.
School premises cleaning, sports ground, interact with students and create awareness about school cleanliness.

Activity: Brief introduction about Capital IQ and EVG Program, Handing science equipment, sports kit, furniture materials (benches) and computers, School premises cleaning, sports ground, interact with students and create awareness about school cleanliness.

Number of Volunteers: 3

Highlights:
1.       MHFI provided Rs.60,000 for procuring materials and expenses for the project
2.       Provided School Benches for the Upper Primary School Students
3.       Distributed Sports Material.
4.       Handover computer from MHFI.
5.       Conducted Career guidance program , create awareness about school cleanliness
6.       School premises cleaning.
7.       Interact with students, playing games and quiz and distribute gift for them..

Impact:
There are 150+ students currently enrolled in the school. Providing the benches and facilities like sports and science equipment kit and computers will make them feel more interesting to come to school & listen to classes. Students will get inspiration from volunteers and concentrate on their studies by setting clear goals to learn and grow.

FEEDBACK OF THE VOLUNTEERS:
Sriharsha Annamraju: - It has been a very fulfilling experience for me to work for this EVG project. It gave me a wonderful experience to spend good amount of time with kids & provide the basic necessities to school like benches, Computers, Science kit & sports kit which will change their perception about school and encourage them to come to school daily. We also made them to know the how to keep the school clean & organized. And as such it was wonderful day not just for day not just for the children we visited but for us as well, to experience the joy of giving. The games we played, gifts we gave and moments we shared with kids made into a memorable day for us. We found undefined happiness in those kids faces and we really felt satisfied when we are the reason for their happiness. I would like to thank S&P capital IQ (McGraw-Hill Financial) for this opportunity and proud of this organization which believes in "Giving back is essential".
Venkata Bhargava Ram Andukuri: - I am so glad to be part of this EVG project which is held in Tagarapuvalasa. The programs/works which are being done under EVG are so much helpful and bringing good results. It was a very learning experience from the project. Interacting with the kids, school teachers, villagers and government officials makes me so confident and satisfied about my social life. I believe things provided in project (Benches, computers sports kit and scientific equipment’s etc.) are very helpful to the students and will make them feel more interesting to come to school. Project Location: Z.P. High School, Jakkadhona Village, Vedurukuppam Mandal, Chittoor District, Andhra Pradesh, India-517126.
About the Project:  Z.P. High school, Jakkadhona is located in Chittoor district which is nearly 650 KMs from S&P Capital IQ, Hyderabad. In this school, nearly more than 160 students are studying. All the students are from economically backward and financially poor families. This school doesn’t have desks for all the classes and students facing lot of problems while studying. Even they don’t have sports material for playing. This school’s H.M sir approached us and requested for financial support to provide required desks and sports material which is most necessary. If S&P Capital IQ do so, it will be more helpful to the students to overcome many problems and study well.

Highlights:
1.       MHFI provided Rs.60,000 for procuring materials and expenses for the project
2.       Brief introduction about S&P Capital IQ and EVG Program
3.       Provided 14 desk benches to the school.
4.       Conducted quiz to the students and prizes are given to the winners.
5.       Handing over the sports and computers material and equipment to the school staff.
6.       Provided books to all the students.

Impact:
Previously the students used to sit on the ground. It is not comfortable and creates more disturbances. With the financial support from S&P Capital IQ, 14 desks were provided to the classroom. Now it is more convenient and comfort to the students and they are more attentive to the classes. School staff, villagers and students are very happy at the works done at the school by S&P Capital IQ.

Jagadish Balasubramanyam (Project Leader): - This is my first EVG project done in my village. I am so happy for the helping hand of S&P Capital IQ through which we made a drastic change at School. With the financial assistance from the S&P Capital IQ, MHFI and deep supervision of the school H.M. sir and the valuable time and support from my co-volunteers Vasu and Ravindra, we completed this EVG project in a successful way. We could see the happiness in the eyes of the students for the works done under community service. Project Location: M.P.P. School, Ananthasagaram, Kandukuru Mandal, Prakasam District, Andhra Pradesh, India.
About the Project:  M.P.P. School is situated at a distance of 370 KMs from Capital IQ, Hyderabad office. Mr. Nageswara Rao (Head Master) approached us to support students of M.P.P. School. M.P.P. School has 45+ students and all the students are from agriculture and daily labor families. These families are not affordable to send their children to private schools where they can get better education in English medium. This School doesn’t have minimum infrastructure facilities like benches, Drinking water, sports material and sufficient tables. They have to sit in the classroom on the floor only. Our support to the students may reduce school drop outs.

1.       MHFI provided Rs.60,000 for procuring materials and expenses for the project
2.       Volunteers are Handover furniture, and sports kit to school children and staff.
3.       Cleaning of school premises with students
4.       Educating the children's about the value of Parents and teachers.
5.       Installation of water tank and fittings
6.       Plantation in the School Premises
7.       Conducted Games and Distributed prizes.

Impact:
Ø  Now entire school has desk benches to accommodate students in classrooms.
Ø  Parents, teachers, students and village people are feeling happy with this service activity done at the school by S&P Capital IQ.
Ø  All students are provided with Drinking water facility.
Ø  Students got chance to play outdoor games with the sports kit that we have provided.
Ø  All the students have confident on their career & able to know importance of study and environment.
Ø  Students and village people can habituate Planting Trees.

About the Project:  M.P.U.P. School Lambadipally Village of Malaya Mandal, Karimnagar District is with 109 students. All the students are the children of poor and daily labor families. There are no required facilities at the school. If we provide some of the basic amenities through this EVG project, it would help the children to study well and develop.
